If your job can be replaced with GPT, you had a bullshit job to begin with.
This one's funny to me, because the people who WILL try to replace you with GPT don't care if they CAN replace you with GPT. They just will.
Look at how it's haphazardly shoved into everything for no reason whatsoever already.
Seriously. Thank you. I'm legit worried at how I struggle to place events within years anymore... It all just... Happens. And then happened already.
Basically like they (and Google) have handled phones. "Wow look, a majority of the OS work is done for us! Sooo if we just...overlay it all with proprietary blobs and un-removable software and locked bootloaders and..."
Yeah, across the whole country even, I think people have been discouraged from reading in general. (Heck, it's hard to feel like you have time to just sit and read a book...Audiobooks FTW...)
But I'm convinced this recent anti-library culture-war push is absolutely just a big PsyOp by private and public owner-class types.
Making it about drag queens and racy books on the surface is an easy way to rile up the uneducated, to remove public free access to information without commercial motive.
Further discouraging education by cutting off access to cultural and community events, outreach, and collections is a great way to isolate people back down to consumer-individuals and grow the hate-base.
Libraries are absolutely under attack for being easy targets too, you're right. And often from the inside! Our local library district has an immensely corrupt board and executive staff. It's likely seen as an easy stepping stone to pad a resume for big CEO jobs or public office. They can get away with a lot without many people really looking too hard...
The light hitting the tree trunk had me thinking the smoker was just casually on fire behind him lmao.
I'm still crazy salty about when I invested ~$250 to get the Substance Painter + Designer suite, and got the "We'Re JoInInG tHe AdObE fAMiLy wooo!" Email....
Followed by the "Don't worry we'll still let you get indie licenses" email...
Followed by the "It's gonna be subscription only but you can still keep the never-will-be-upgraded indie version we're discontinuing."
How can the likes of Adobe and Autodesk be so garbage and yet everything they taint with their miasmal existence is or becomes "InDuStRy StAnDaRd"? At this point I refuse to touch Adobe stuff partly because their membership is harder to quit than a gym, and the rest is just out of sheer spite.
I just refuse to use commercial creative software at this point. The blatant rug pulling is just expected now.
"Money isn't a birthright" says political faction in favor of tax-free inheritance for its filthy rich members. More at 11:00.
EDIT: weird mobile correction typo
The worst part is, timeline-wise, still feeling like a teenager. Except physically stuff hurts more and memento mori is more of a thing now.
We've been set back so many times!
I feel like I'm forever working harder and thinking smarter and still trapped behind never really "being an adult".
And by the time we finally feel like we're actually starting our lives, they'll have already been mostly robbed from us.
I think the most painful thing is how nihilistic our culture has become with just...being ok with this. Like yeah, we're supposed to think it's normal.
Then you look over at Zoomers and they're gleefully making unintelligible memes about how everything is doomed. Hopelessness is their comedy. It's sad.
Right now, we're pissed off and want home ownership and the concept of retirement back.
Are they trying to wait us out until the younger working class isn't even familiar with the concept? Look what happened to unions, until people finally started digging it up and bringing them back into fashion.
We must absolutely refuse to forget this, and just beshruggingly accept it as normal.
Hey hey guys wait maybe he's got a point....
...Let's remove ALL of them from the ballot and purge all the old money from politics to find candidates that actually represent the people of their nation. 🤔
If only we could then dump that campaign money into schools and a national train system...
There's a lot of evidence that modern CBT therapy just doesn't really connect with men very well. Mainly because we don't really tend to solve problems by "considering more gratitude" or "trying yoga at sunrise maybe?" (Was a legit suggestion when I had a therapist lol.)
Edit: yoga and exercise are awesome, and physical activity can be therapy in itself for many people! There's some truth to the trope that some men like to hit the gym to deal with their complex feelings lol.
Men tend to want practical steps and solutions to things. And there isn't a whole lot of practical solutions one person can try to repair the effects of an increasingly alienating society and collapsing socioeconomic structures.
Therapists can be very helpful, and by all means you should definitely try to find a good one.
But sadly when you realize a lot of your issues are circumstantial and practical though, things like "Well I'm depressed and anxious because I feel everything is out of my control, like layoffs and rent hikes."...
...Sometimes it feels like the prevalent training and methodology seems to say "Well that sounds like a you problem."
There's a really good podcast about this called "It's Not Just In Your Head"
And a YouTube guy "Dr. K" (actually a doctor btw) who runs a channel called "HealthyGamerGG.
The topic is definitely worth analysis and discussion, why therapy isn't working for men in particular, as it's often swept under the rug as just "Men being stubborn and toxic" or whatever, but there is a lot more at play here.
We need to make sure men are heard and cared for, before they get warped by all the "alpha grind real man" grifters that understand how they work, and use it for malicious means.
EDIT: I'm really glad this seems to have started a somewhat productive discussion! I want to clarify that I'm NOT tearing down CBT or therapy or yoga or anything!
I'm merely calling attention to certain blind spots I've experienced (and therapists have also been discussing) when it comes to how therapy is conducted, and how it might get better in dealing with how men tend to experience the world.
Again, therapy is great and I encourage you to try it. But I'm mainly talking about why men shy away from it, and how we need to seriously talk about how to help them before they start thinking people like Andrew Tate have their best interests at heart.
