Well, I cannot imagine wizard dieing to a nuke. You would have to surprise them I suppose. I mean, what if they teleport the nuke to some other place?

Even if all the tech kept working, I imagine the only way you could beat a wizard as a Muggle is if they don't see it coming.

If they see a gun, sure, the first wizard may be surprised and die, but it will not take long to find a spell that shields them. Rockets? Same story. Sure you can destroy stuff, even kill a bunch. The rest will be back though, and they can teleport, change memories, actually turn into another person or animal, turn you into an animal and whatever else.

The one plot hole in HP that always annoyed me is how Avada Kedavra is supposed to be the worst spell. In the books it is mentioned how Peter Pippeling blew up a whole street with a bunch of muggles in it. That seems way more dangerous...

Actually, at some point in the books they talk about this, and somebody comments how Muggles seldom would actually catch a real witch or wizard. And if they did, the witch or wizard would cast a spell to shield themselves from the fire and pretend to be in pain.

That comment about sleep...that's about where I tell them to go fuck themselves. I'll find a new job, I'm not going to put up with bullshit like that.

Just commenting to say you cannot simply lower the water temperature. If you go too low there is a risk of legionella and nobody wants that. So please, before you lower your water temperature, do some research.

I believe 60 degrees is basically the lowest you can go safely. Different sources seem to indicate that.

It's a gift. If they don't like it I hope they find a good destination for it. Maybe somebody else will be happy with it.

I give it away, and then I don't really care anymore, unless the gift was expensive and specifically asked for.

I don't waste my time by being offended about things that I have no control over. I've added my positive contribution to the situation, do with it what you want.

Okay, that sucks. Might want to get in touch with as many companies as you can, explain the situation and see if you can work something out.

If you can communicate that you'll need more time, I think they would prefer that over not getting any money at all.

When you are in deep shit like this, speak about it. Let everyone who you still own money know that you want to, but cannot pay right now and you want to work out an arrangement.

Also check if the government has a program to assist with debt. Be proactive, people are more willing to work with someone that is taking action to change things up.

The worst thing you can do is stop opening mail and just ignore it. It will only make the problems bigger. Get help, anywhere you can.

Good luck.

Edit: depending on your country and relationship with your employer, consider informing your employer too. Some employers are willing to work something out with you if you explain how it happened and how you want to get out of it.

You are correct, but then Windows will get the boot entirely. It can stay as long as it behaves. It literally has it's own fate in it's hands.

And I know how to get the bootloader working again, so that will be just fine.

I suspect most vendors just dgaf about being linux certified. They just build their hardware to work with Windows since that is what most people will use. If the hardware happens to work with Linux too, great. But it's much more important to make sure it works with a system that over 90% of your users use.

If you build laptops that you deliver with a Linux system on it, then yes, you will make sure it is Linux certified and it works properly.

It's not difficult to imagine that for most laptops that are made, Linux wasn't even considered for a second.
