Road biker here, for sport. Bike lanes are dangerous for us and unpraticable, at least in my country.

And too narrow very often. And full of people walking, dogs pissing, kids...

Xiaomi. Or poco, redmi... Same stuff. For 200 bucks you get awesome phones and you can usually always remove stock and install LineageOS. They are all freely uockable and still under warranty after that.

Get a model near its end of market life, buy new the oldest you can find... Unlock, install LineageOS, enjoy.

I bought my Poco X3 NFC for 160€ 4 years ago and still rocks today with LineageOS 21 (Android 14).

(It usually take 6 months to 1 year for each new model to get LineageOS support, so don't buy the latest model Also worth looking if there is official support on LineageOS before buy, or at least some unofficial ports).

I already have my arrs, but often I find difficult to locate it in my native language, while Amazon Prime has them all, in my native language.

Another way would be to find the Italian audio track and put it on an english movie...

(I also have Usenet, but Italian content there is even worse than torrents)

Keep it like it is, and make a point to explain to anybody what your views are. I understand you not wanting to be considered a Nazi, but it is still ab almost 100 years old piece of history and I think it would be a pity to trash it.

Never forget history, means also keep "historic memorabilia". There is nothing bad in keeping a piece of history, good or bad, it's all our history and we should always be wary of trying to " trash it ".

Edit: you should edit your post and specify its not original. Them just trash it or melt if you can use the materials.

Everybody bashing this guy.

First of all, he is an Apple user... What do you expect?

Bet he was happy to pay cheaper price and disappointed to be... Tricked into buying something of the same value he was paying for?

Hard to stay serious on apple brainwashed guys.

At the same time, interesting to learn how even the most idiotic restrictions are always bypassed one way or the other. This fills me with hope for the future.

Its a solution to one of the typical Linux issues. Its a step toward overcaming the fragmentation of Linux package managers.

I don't personally like it too much, I prefer the distro package stuff, but I understand the app developers cannot manage a plethora of different package formats.

Distro maintainters should, but its clearly more and more a massive task for different distros to keep up with the amount of apps out there.

Also, npm, pip and the various "packaging" ways existing add to the chaos.

I see distro package managers converge toward providing basic packages for the general system and some other solution like flatpack to provide additional stuff.

I think it would be wrong for flatpack/containers to replace package managers as well, it's not their scope.

In my experience, you always gain space savings going av1 from 264 and 265 as well. For me its always been significant savings at the same quality level.

Ofc YMMV and use a very recent ffmpeg with the best av1 libraries.

Its hard but rewarding, and perfectly doable given you want to do it.

Note that there are a few mandatory requirements for a port to be feasible, like unlocked bootloader and vendor sources available for kernel.

As newby, you also want already existing ports to start from.

Also, some powerful hardware to build on (32+gb ram, 10+ cores, 100+GB storage).

Also older (up to A11) can be real bitches, after A12 things are improving a bit.

Usenet (feddit.it)
submitted 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) by Shimitar@feddit.it to c/piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com

So, i want to give a try to usenet world.

I have the *Arr setup with torrents now, and works great, but why not experiment a bit further?

So many questions...

First of all: will i find italian contents? Or its all US/English stuff?

I got an account on NZBFind, bit thats only an indexer right? I need also to find an access provider to usenet? If so, which access provider do you recomend? I want somewhere i can test for a few weeks or a month or so before committing, so no credit card upfront.

Update: trough techradar got an offer on newshosting for 5.99/mo with 3 monts free. Paid with PayPal then cancelled the recurrent immediately (so paid 0 so far). But at the moment not yet sure i made it working in my *Arr setup properly.

Recently setup the *Arr stack&transmission+ JellyFin and loving it... (linux user, with always on server at home, behind a 5G unlimited connection)

I am a torrent person, dont understand usenet at the moment.

A few questions to fellow sailors:

  • how do you safely and easily import your existing libraries? (Movies tv.shows books..)

  • how do you manage multiple languages.in movies? Like having the movie in french and english both

  • where and how to search for audiobooks? Really cant find many...

Any tips for daily usage?

download videos (feddit.it)

Hi fellow people! I want to download & save a huge set of small videos (20min each) for a swimming course I paid for and they don't let me download , and this is driving me crazy.

The videos can be accessed via browser only, and I tried tubedowoader with no success (gives an error "empty keys" while attempting to download).

What should I try?

(Android is first choice, then Linux ofc)

I just visited Auschwitz and Birkenau memorial camps in Poland, with the kids. Feels like never forget is always important to remember.

This looks like a community that has not yet started except for somebody who pumps memes and news stories...

Why do anti-work would mean marxist or leninist? What has to do with them at all? They where both very much pro-work if i recall properly, but a differently organized way of working than the US way.

I am from a EU country, much more socialist than US, and still feel anti-work has good points, so...

A fucking android tablet. The worst one on the market: even a browser would lag opening the simplest pace.

But i was able to install Gentoo linux on it and hack enough to have fun. It was still pretty much unusable tough.

Are you 16 and half now? I had to ASK for a razor back in the days...

So... Why? (feddit.it)
submitted 1 year ago by Shimitar@feddit.it to c/antiwork@lemmy.ml

Not much activity here. I would expect mass moving from reddit specially on communities like anti-work where some kind of concepts like strikes are familiar.

I am honestly... Baffled.
