Install some DNS test app for Android and check that it does get resolved.

My will resolve the home server address to 0.0.0.0, and I get the same network error.

What's even the point of road e-bikes? They are supposed to be sport devices, where the whole point is to train and exercise.

I am an avid road biker, crunch hundreds of kms per months/week on roads with my road bike and really there is no point in this kind of e-bikes.

I am talking of sport bikes, not leisure or going-to-work type of bikes.

Instead, MTBs make much more sense as e-MTBs due to the kind of terrains they go trough.

Do you want to elaborate on the privacy point?

I personally don't care if somebody snoops on the music I hear...

I run also, and trust me try wireless, such a better experience without the entangling cables. Specially for sport.

Yes it counts indeed... But in that case the service is down while its migrated so the fact the database is also down does it count?

I mean, it's a self hosted home service, not your bank ATM network...

Thanks! There are a couple I didn't know about and now I need to test them!

Find me a company that is not evil. Should we become all eco-beekepers or starve?

Following your reasoning all marketing jobs should be unethical. Where do you draw the line?

No, working is not unethical no matter who pays you.

Reality is more complex than ideals.

I have been running two usb3 based raid-1 arrays for over 10 years and I had zero failures, zero corruption's and plenty of speed (ssd's over dedicated usb3 ports).

The disks are on a UPS (a very small one) to avoid powerlosses due to power failures.

Get a firestick. After trying literally 5 different unbranded TV boxes I gave up. Those are all shit.

Get a Shield, but out of budget, or get a fire stick. They just work, are powerful enough and support enough codecs.

They are amazon so hey, ads and shit included, but way the best hardware for the price (yes they will hard code DNS and ignore your pihole)

Good point, been using it for years, but trying to get rid of NextCloud that, while being an amazing tool, is overkill for my use case.

Migrated to a WebDAV server, Card/CalDAV server and Joplin. So far so good, but missing the ease to access notes from web too for a quick glance when on a PC (for example, to copy&paste some stuff) without installing the desktop app (work PC or friend's PC).

Well, yes, stage3 has been a revolution. But I don't remember using stage1 directly. I started with Linux way earlier than gentoo... On 386.
