A lot of cops are so high strung that you essentially have to pretend you're having the time of your life while interacting with them - any nervousness or annoyance is taken to mean that you're potentially a violent criminal who could kill them at any moment.

Just the realization that a woman holding a pot of hot water could hypothetically use it as a weapon, however unlikely it was in this scenario, was enough to make him instinctively shoot with only minor notice that still did nothing to prevent him from killing her even as she began cowering and apologizing.

This is the culture we've allowed the police to build in this country; the job is dangerous, and they're only human, so they believe they should be forgiven for being scared regardless of the situation, and should be forgiven for taking drastic measures while they're scared.

Yeah, people are acting like this is up to chance - rich people throw money at their problems, and so long as someone is willing to spend their time catching it instead of doing their job, it works. It's going to work. The 5 year sentence is for poor people they want to get rid of, not for rich people they want to profit from.

A post is separate from the user who posted it. This post is meant to point out the tragedy going on in Gaza. It doesn't matter if OP was the one who posted it, or anyone else. Hell, it's a clip from Twitter anyway; the words aren't OP's in any way - they're just sharing them.

My point is that if you want to get mad at someone's negative traits, that's fine, but this post in this context isn't negative. Your original complaint wasn't about OP's ragebaiting, or their habit of calling people Nazis for disagreeing with them, it was about their incessant posting about the ongoing genocide at Gaza, which - again - isn't a bad thing.

Everyone has good sides and bad sides, and you chose to complain about OP's good side, then attempted to justify your complaints by pointing out the fact that they have a bad side, which isn't showcased here, and is thus irrelevant.

From what I can understand, they think of freedom not as the ability to do what they want, but as the inability for others to stop them from doing something, so instead of focusing on doing what makes them happy, they focus on the things people dislike about them, making sure that they never feel forced to stop, as that would make them less free.

The very belief that the decisions of the powerful few are a reflection of the opinions of the people as a whole is how we got ourselves into this mess in the first place...

I don't know much about Helium, so I'm a bit confused... What's to stop us from purifying grade 4 further into 4.7 and beyond besides cost? If the only thing stopping us is cost, then it's not inaccurate to say that, regardless of grade, the non-renewable element of Helium is being used in frivolous ways because it makes more money to find profitable ways to use the lower-grade helium than to actually further purify and conserve it for more important usage.

Because in that scenario you need to think about where to eat, and you need to wait a few minutes for the burger. People go to fast food places because they immediately recognize the logos and know they can eat there without having to think about it, and they'll happily pay more money for a worse product if they can get it right now without having to leave their car. And they'll happily pay this higher price for the same reason. And they'll view the normal price as being the "cheaper" price and probably go more often during the off-peak hours to "save money" as well. It's a win-win-win for Wendy's.

America has been emphasizing convenience over all else for decades for this exact reason. It's cheaper and more lucrative for a company to provide a quick, easy product than a better quality one, so they just shoved advertisements into our faces until we were collectively convinced that that's what we want, too.

Well, Down Syndrome is always caused by a 3rd copy of chromosome 21. Sometimes it's translocated, attached to another chromosome, but the extra DNA is still there. A mosaic, where some cells have the trisomy and some don't, can also result in Down Syndrome, but again, it's caused by the extra DNA in those cells that have it. There are other conditions caused by trisomies of chromosome 13 or 18, or of the sex chromosomes, but those aren't Down Syndrome.

Not sure if it was actually a SovCit conspiracy, or if it was Q or something else. Once she was down the rabbit hole she spent literally all day on YouTube just watching conspiracy videos.

It depends on how seriously it's followed. My wife will often say something along the lines of "if you make dinner I'll let you feel me up," but it's with the mutual understanding that she knows I'd make her dinner because she asked regardless of the reward, and I know she wouldn't offer it if she wasn't happy to give it - she just wants to make sure we have dinner first.

This chart's a bit too far, though, since it's a more long-term commitment that doesn't factor in everyone's feelings at the time that the rewards come due, but I could see that being circumvented in the event that a "rain check" could be called if someone's not feeling it at that moment.

Pre-orders used to come with sweet incentives, since there's otherwise no reason to do it. I've got cool tins, coins, plushies, and even a working mini harmonica from pre-orders I did in the 2000's. Now they give you nothing but a few in-game items if you're lucky. I have no idea why people even do it anymore.

If my wife got a pair of these, I'd be into it; a bit of playfulness in the bedroom is a good thing.
