Maybe it's just me, but I don't see most of the "both sides are bad" posts as a push toward the center, I see them as a "both sides are too far right" telling people to vote blue now, but to also fight for a far more left-leaning candidate by the next election, since we shouldn't be settling for someone like Biden long-term.

Another issue is that information is easy enough to find that people don't bother to remember things as much anymore, since they can just look up the majority of stuff on Wikipedia or something if they ever need to know it. It leads to people having a smaller pool of background knowledge, which makes them easier to mislead.

As a kid I'd always go to the appliance section at the thrift stores my family would frequent to see if I could forage some batteries left in the products. They are almost always nearly dead, but I'd take 15 minutes of Gameboy time over nothing.

My parents rarely bought me batteries, and when they did they'd buy the big packs of off-brand ones that only lasted an hour anyway, so I had no power more often than not.

Yeah, exactly. Many republican voters think that everyone should vote for their own goals, and that the biggest group should win, so they're terrified of not being the biggest group in any given demographic (religion, race, etc.). What they fail to realize is that most people vote for how they'd like the country itself to be run, which includes smaller groups just as much as larger ones, so losing that majority footing wouldn't impact them very much if at all.

As soon as I saw this I thought "Get this man some iodine, stat! Or, conversely, stop giving this man so much iodine!"

Believe me, it got sadder and sadder watching it happen in person, too.

By using her body sexually. Are you really so unfamiliar with seeing people naked that you think it's the nakedness itself that's supposed to be sexual? Have you never seen the difference between a woman taking off her bra because it's stuffy and a woman taking off her bra because she wants sex? There's "Yup, it's her naked body." and then there's "Hell yeah, her naked body!" You just go ravenous any time your SO is naked around you, ever?
