I'm amazed that anyone is still buying the "moderate voters" bullshit. Just try to picture an actual human being who's politics have left them scratching their heads between Harris and Trump. "If only Harris would do a little more for corporations. Oh well, I guess I'll stick with the racist orange insurrectionist."

It's not about moderate voters. If anything it's about the median voter, but that's a very different animal. The median voter in this country is wacky as fuck with political opinions that are all over the place. The one thing they almost all have in common is that they hate establishment politicians from both parties. Harris is trying to get their votes by being even more establishment, and it's going to be a disaster.

The one hope we have is the end of RvW. If that's woken up enough women voters, then we still can win. Republicans may have screwed themselves so badly that even establishment Democrats can beat them. Let's hope.

Women live in the same declining capitalistic society as men, yet they are far more resistant to fascism. That's not to say there is something wrong with men or masculinity. Society puts different pressures on men and women so they react differently.

the meme that you should vote third party or stay home because the Democrat isn't liberal enough for them.

You understand Russia well enough, but if you think the left is upset at a Democrat for not being liberal enough, you really don't understand left politics. Liberalism is fundamentally a conservative ideology. It was liberals that made the Democrats into weak and ineffective corporate bureaucrats, thus setting the stage for the latest rise of fascism. (That's how fascism always takes root BTW.)

You are also buying into the establishment bullshit argument that the left doesn't show up for elections. Left leaning voters are the most reliable voting demographic in the country, in spite of the Democratic establishment blaming them for all their failures.

If just half the energy wasted lecturing the left were put to good use, we wouldn't have Trump in the first place.

It might be a schtick, but their public facade never entirely detached from their actual identity. Also, isn't that what everyone does to some extent?

It's been a staple rhetorical strategy for fascists to both be entirely serious and "totally joking" with the same exact statements. It allows them to consistently push the boundaries of acceptable prejudice while always having a fall-back. "You took that seriously!?!?".

They often just call them elitists, bankers, or "Jews".

It sure would make it harder for them if both options didn't indeed suck. Biden is light years better than Trump, but he's still pretty much shit.

I don't think so. The more people actually hear Bernie speak, the more they like him. He wouldn't be hiding from the public like Biden, he would be leading rallies on the Whitehouse lawn. If Bernie had access to the bully pulpit, impeaching him would be political suicide.

How will women ever get the right to vote without the right to vote? If that can be achieved, I think there are ways to ditch FPTP.

Special privileges for religious people is the exact opposite of a separation of church and state.

My primary care doctor of 20+ years just quit the practice. He confided in me that it just wasn't worth it for him to keep dealing with the crazy demands and dwindling rewards. He is one of about 150k doctors who left the profession in the last couple years.

I know it's not the actual definition but, to me, capitalism is literally "rule by capital". Every move we can make that reduces the leverage of the wealthy is progress away from capitalism. Universal single payer healthcare and a significant UBI would be powerful in that regard.
