Nah, I personally found the gameplay fun, but that just my own opinion.

Thanks for sharing your work at Lemmy! I say this because although I don’t use Reddit, I’m sure that logically because there are more users there and being more famous, it is the preferred platform for developers to share their work.

Think you’ll implement a replay feature in the future? I love that feature.

And is there any chance of porting your job in the future to Wayland? Currently there is no program (only OBS, as far as I know) that allows recording in Wayland, it would be great to have more options.

Unfortunately that’s the point of FreeTube precisely, that’s why it uses libre instances like Piped or Invidious, I think what you mention is impossible.

The closest thing you can use is ReVanced, which is Youtube but without ads, keeping the analytics and recommendations.

It would be great some kind of sticker or banner by release that says "Steam Deck/Linux verified", maybe the users themselves are the ones who comment if it is compatible or not and the banner is added.

To do this, first you need to have Firefox Nightly or Beta installed on your phone, then go to addons.mozilla.org and search in the search bar for User-Agent Switcher and install it by pressing the "Add to Firefox" button and now you should have User-Agent Switcher installed.

Now, you must press the 3 dots on the Firefox toolbar and go to Add-ons and open User-Agent Switcher.

Once there, choose Firefox 117 (or whatever version is available at the time you read this) and it doesn't matter if it's Windows or Linux, but to keep things simple choose Windows / Firefox 117.

Now, go to addons.mozilla.org again and again press the 3 dots and activate the option that says "Desktop site" and that's it, now you should be able to install any addon you want by going to the addon you want and pressing the "Add to Firefox" button, then you will get a pop-up asking if you want to add the addon and simply press yes.

I hope this guide is useful to someone! I recently came across this by chance and really found absolutely no information regarding this, so I posted it here.

It should be noted that not all extensions work as expected, some don't even open, but most of them work.

A few days ago I download a movie but the movie was in another language and I'm definitely not going to watch it because of that, I still completed the 1:1 ratio because at the end of the day I downloaded the file and used other people's bandwidth, but what is one supposed to do in this situation?

I mean, with a 3gb movie it doesn't matter, 3gb is nothing and I'm sure there are those who download stuff just to seed it even though they will never use it or watch it, but something that happens to me very often is that as a Linux user I download a game (let's say FH6) and I download the Steamrip version but it doesn't work and then I find out that the Empress version does work (don't ask me why because it was Empress who made the crack) and now we are not talking about 3gb, we are talking about 200gb which is a considerable space for my PC, even if I have 1TB of SSD 200GB is enough and depending on the time it takes to get to the ratio 1: 1 can be worse.

Edit: Thanks for all those answers!

Browsing the internet I found this app called VMOS which is basically an Android emulator inside Android and it's great for testing or playing pirated games, the problem is that the app is almost completely in Chinese and I was curious to investigate how much the "Premium" version that unlocks root access and other things was worth and to save me work (I know) I asked Perplexity IA how much the premium version or membership was worth and their answer was that.

Perplexity IA is a chatbot like ChatGPT (I guess based on it) that I found on the FMHY megathread and I found it quite useful because it doesn't need you to login to use it.

Here is the link to the chat for validity purposes.

Hi! I was recently looking for Violentmonkey scripts to exactly fulfill the purpose of solving captchas automatically and I came across this curious extension which is also a Violentmonkey script.

Has anyone else heard of it? I honestly haven't at all. The extension itself is supposed to be completely open source and has been working really well for me.

To install the extension you need to head over to their Github and download their .xpi and be strictly in Firefox Nightly as (and this may be a problem for many) you need to disable an option in about:config to install unsigned extensions within Firefox Nightly.

Next, you need to install a package via npm called nocaptchaai-puppeteer that "simulates" human touches.

Then you need to go to their website and create a free account and put your API KEY in the extension and that's it, just click on the "settings" buttons inside the extension and you can enable them, remember to activate the extension with the top right button.

Now, the process itself to me seems very invasive as I need a package on my host machine and I need to install an unsigned extension and not to mention that you need to register with a real email, you can't use temporary or masked emails, but other than that it really works very well.

The extension itself works fine and has nothing that tells you "You need to pay to use it", as with the free API you can solve 200 captchas per day and in my opinion that is enough for anyone who uses their PC on a regular basis.

Obviously this post is not an ad and I have 0 relationship with its creators, also if anyone wants I can post in the comments a mini guide on how to configure the extension step by step, and if anyone is interested also here is my referral code, it is supposed that if you register with that we both gain more daily API uses but no idea, if you prefer you can register directly from their website!

I mean, can you share a link, image or context? At least my bookmark from the original website still shown the shutdown message.

Basically I want to download a serie in a specific language and absolutely nowhere I can find it and recently I saw that the serie is available in the language I want in The Pirate's Bay but I know the bad reputation of the site and I have never used it.

I ask if it can be considered "safe" in quotes because at least in this specific case the files are not executable, they are only .mkv and in fact I don't even plan to play them on my PC, I plan to play them on a computer I use as a media center that has no internet access (and it's Linux). And although this setup should be considered "safe" enough, the question itself makes me curious.

In the torrent there is only the chapters of the serie and nothing else, or so it seems, I would analyze the files in VirusTotal before playing them but each chapter weighs more than 1GB (they are in 1080p and last more than 40 minutes) and VirusTotal does not allow to upload files of a certain weight.

I am sorry for the generic question about a site with a bad reputation, but although according to my knowledge everything should be fine, there are always things that one does not consider or go unnoticed due to ignorance or lack of knowledge.

As far as I remember, Fennec is a normal Firefox but without the telemetry, and that's it.

What the heck, I had no idea that Revanced had the ability to patch apps other than Youtube! Thank you for saying so.

I downloaded several to learn different programming languages and I have them in a directory called "Courses" and each programming language has its own directory, for example, for Bash it would be Internal Memory > Download > Courses > Bash and so on with each programming language,

The problem I have is that many of those courses are divided in more than one playlist, for example, a Bash course has 20 directories and each directory is a category of the course (arguments, variables, strings) and inside the directory has its own videos that start numbered from 1 and this is a complete disaster using the VLC Playlists function because as each directory has its own numbered video that starts from 1, VLC orders all the videos that start with a 1 in the playlist, even if they are from different categories, so mixing for example video 1 from the arguments category with video 1 from the functions category.

Is there any video player that allows me to do the same function of VLC but that allows me to separate the playlist for each directory within the base directory?

I am and all my life have been a Linux user, I have nothing against Windows or MacOS, I just like Linux, and lately I have been experimenting with Windows in a virtual machine and I don't really know much open source software there apart from the one that is cross-platform like Firefox or Joplin.

At the moment I know:

Flow Launcher: It's a typical rofi style launcher, although I'm not a TWM user I like to just press super and type the first letters of the program I'm looking for to open it.

Lively Wallpaper: A program to have animated wallpapers, in the style of Wallpaper Engine.

Edit: I want to clarify that I read all the comments, I only respond to some because many times I have nothing to contribute to many of them because I don't know what to comment. Thanks to all of you for providing your lists of programs, I will be sure to try as many as I can because they are great, at least I know what to install if I use Windows one day!

Question about Vaultwarden (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

Currently I manage my passwords in an archaic but secure way, which is simply to synchronize a directory where I have my Keepass database between my devices, and I say archaic but secure because even if my Nextcloud server hosted on a VPS explode (where I have the database stored) I still have the databases stored locally, so I don't lose anything.

I am currently interested in self hosting Vaultwarden although my biggest drawback is the fact that if my VPS were to fail for example I would not be able to access my database and if I lose access to the database I lose access to all my passwords. a pretty bad scenario.

So I have a question, what can I do to prevent that from happening? Apart from hosting everything on my own hardware of course, for now I prefer to use VPS for different reasons.

For a long time I have been looking for an extension where I can "store" or "separate" my open tabs and send them to another place to read them later, and not something like wallabag and not necessarily offline, but simply for example leave saved the url of this post to see it later, without the need for it to be a news.

This is the extension and this is its Github page and its last update was just 3 weeks ago, so far in my opinion it works absolutely perfect.

Now, to tell the truth I can't say if it works because the developer was aware of the mobile users or it's because Mozilla is working on getting more desktop extensions to mobile, but either way, I want to make it clear that it works fine on desktop too.

For those who are interested, here are the steps to add extensions from desktop to mobile, it also works in Firefox Beta.

I have read that depending on the filters you have in uBlock, extensions like Skip Redirect are redundant, how true is this? And in theory, which filters should I activate for uBlock to perform the Skip Redirect function?

Personally, I'm not a Skip Redirect user, but this comment that I have read on multiple occasions makes me curious and depending on what people tell me here I may try it.

I suppose the community was unfortunately eliminated because of the politics of the instance where it is hosted, but I am not sure, if I directly go to the community there is nothing, it does not seem to exist anymore. And maybe it's related to one of the post of a mod no long ago, which was asking someone to join as a mod because "Someone has been uploading illegal content to the community"

Does anyone know more about it, or do you know any community like that? There are many communities of shitpost but that was the only active, the others have posts 20 or more days ago.

Edit: Thanks for the answers, I hate that we can never have anything good because someone always has to shit on everything for having a miserable life.

What are all these IA-generated images about Trump? I guess they are bot accounts but what the hell has to do with shitpost?

I downloaded the GOG version (from a secure site) and it runs fine, my PC can handle it and it runs perfectly on medium at a stable 60fps, but sometimes when I play the game it seems "slow", I can't really describe it but it's like the game runs fine at first and then drops below 20fps and when I restart the game it runs fine again.

I know it sounds like the cryptominer from 1337x, but I didn't download from there and the GPU and CPU usage is exactly the same.

The game is installed on an SSD.

I'm running Bottles with wine-ge-proton8-13, dxvk-2.2, vkd3d-proton-2.9 and the problem persists in both dx and vulkan.
