I personally know Ente because of Ente photos, but as far as I know they're pretty trustful and in general I believe that people trust in them, and as far as I know they have not had any scandal or sold out to anyone.

I can confirm, it has very good content!

Should I feel bad if I feel referenced?

Edit: No. Not really, and neither does anyone else reading this. It's stupid to feel bad about what an absolute stranger says on the internet.

I’m using ext4 and the contents of the HDD are basically virtual machines, and I was able to access most of them (who use dynamic virtual hard drives) and they seem to work without problem, so I assumed that nothing got corrupted.

Actually I was surprised because a long ago I tried to do the same with BFTRS and all my data get corrupted that time.

And it’s interesting, thanks for the info. I didn’t know that it worked like that.

I used to do exactly that a long time ago with Syncthing and it was as simple as you say, but it always broke something, but after a while it was literally impossible to do and after some research on Joplin's Github issues I found out that due to a change Google made in the Android storage system it was no longer possible and "they were investigating how to fix it".

In the end I got tired of waiting and pay a cheap Nextcloud hosting to sync with webdav and that's it.

Recently a user in privacy@lemmy.ml created this post about URLCheck, it is quite complete and has many options, in fact if I'm not wrong it can also redirect links from proprietary services like Youtube to open source front-ends like Invidious or Piped, so I don't see why with a little research you couldn't access it directly from the article.

I wanted to try this and I reported you for "betray the homeland" (I don't know why) and it didn't redirect me. Forgive me for sending the CIA behind you. 😭

Good to know! I know it's stupid and not at all the case, but I had read about a virus that ran on an old version of Windows when you open a file because Windows needed to compile the file to open it and the exploit took advantage of a vulnerability in that compiler to rescale to admin permissions, and I think about that when downloaded this serie.

In the case of Linux I strongly recommend that you never use installers or repacks, which usually have a high probability of failure with Wine in my experience.

I can't confirm right now because I haven't downloaded Starfield yet, but try to only use portable versions of games, like the ones Steamrip offers, where you just download a .zip and you're all set, just run the .exe in Wine and play as if it were Windows.

Although Starfield is currently not available on Steamrip, you can find a portable version of Starfield on Rutracker.

I have been using Linguist, which is an open source extension that works very well, you can translate a specific text selection or the whole text, and it even has an offline translator (using the Bergamot project).
