Its insane to think you have any leverage as a contractor for one of the most bloated companies in the history of man kind.

Don't know why you're getting downvoted, but this is the reality.

The thing is that these contractors shouldn't expect to be in the same level as a regular employee in terms of importance. And if they didn't fire these people, but they simply didn't bother to renew the contract, then that solidifies that position.

This past few months (can't recall how long it has been) have been full of layoffs across various industries. Their position just became even weaker.

I know that KDE is working on HDR support for Plasma 6 (Wayland). Dunno how ready it'll be by the time it comes out, but its coming.

Other than Plasma 6, I don't think so.

I discovered that the fan just died.

Sorry for this. I didn't check that old laptop till yesterday to check for other issues unrelated to Plasma, which was when I discovered that the fan died.

It's a spare laptop a friend gave to me recently.

Just wondering if such an option is possible on a phone that is totally Google-free or is virtually de-Googled?

It is. I was merely curious if it's normal at this point in time.

25

I'm not sure if this is normal, but it seems that Plasma 6 (Wayland) feels overall slow on my laptop with Intel i5-6200U.

Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.90.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.246.0
Qt Version: 6.6.0
Kernel Version: 6.2.0-37-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-6200U CPU @ 2.30GHz
Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 520
Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
Product Name: Inspiron 5559

I only got this laptop recently from a friend so I have yet to test on X11 session. The only other time I've spent using Plasma was on a RTX 3060 Ti in a VM so it didn't feel as slow.

Is that normal?

Created bug report 477959.

There's a lot of improvements with Plasma 6 and NVIDIA 545 on my RTX 3060 Ti, so that's something to look forward to.

Ugh...? Since when? And as an asian, I've never felt offended.

And here's a busy screenshot. Apologies

Can't wait for me to fully utilize the refresh rate of my ultrawide without it being limited by my 4K monitor

Isn't it the same for Flatpak?
