Glad to see him elected. I know Khomenei is still very strong in the government, but people say that president has solid impact in election of next person to Khomenei's position once he is dead. And he is 85. So maybe there might be hope?

Wishing all the best to all iranians <3

Ladybird is extremely amazing project. Andreas is a good person, with great community around him. The only thing I didn't like is the new logo - it is very meta-ish. Looks very corporative, and doesn't really resemble browser :(

Can you please share some info about why office 365 is in a dangerous spot in Germany? Very based country btw, this might be the reason why they donated 1M to GNOME project, considering it public interest project.

The last one is always github trends. If you end up there, no luck for you then. Go cook something or go outside

Or GrayJay. They have the app on f-droid too. It aggregates almost every video sharing websites. YouTube, twitch, rumble, odysee etc.

TLDR is, now looking back at the whole image, Louis thinks he hasn't been able to do enough impact on industry, and it could have been better place without him.

I personally do not agree. I've always seen him as the face of Right To Repair movement. He has done a significant work on this field, and without Louis and passionate people like him, the industry would most certainly be worst than ever.

But unfortunately, this is the most one person can do. Average person simply doesn't care, and those who do, they are largely outnumbered. These companies are bigger than most countries, and have huge impact on world economy. Therefore, governments can't do (often, willingly, don't even try) much about their anti-consumer behaviors.

It is quite heartbreaking to see these kind of "self-questioning"s from the "right to repair guy" himself, but I simply can't blame him! He has been doing this advocacy for 15 years now, and unfortunately, it has only gotten worst. I doubt if the field will change to the better. Advancements will happen, but in its current form - consumers are just consumers. We have lost our particularity, and these corporations are fighting for ~~us~~ our attention span.

What do you think? Is there a light at the end, or are we living in it's best times?

Of course this won't happen. The day they release it, world will collapse because of the newly discovered vulnerabilities and stuff. Security over obscurity is major player in securities of closed source programs.

At the place I work at, we all are given Azure Virtual Desktops, which we use for everything. I'm working remotely from another country, so there is damned input lag too. Copy/paste, any data transfer is disabled too.

The worst part is we need to use "Remote Desktop" app to connect to our VMs, and it is available for EVERY platform except linux. Like they got browser client, windows, mac os, android, iOS. BUT NOT FOR LINUX. So I use VirtualBox to open windows machine, and use that to connect to VM.

This is sad :(

Sorry if this is against community guidelines, but I couldn't find any rule that prohibits this. If there is any, please tell me, I'm open to remove the post.

Just randomly came across this one and it looked so good that I formatted my laptop (which runs windows, unfortunately for battery reasons) and did the set-up with this script. It is FOSS and very easy to use.

It can remove edge, cortana and other microsoft junk software, while being able to quickly install stuff, set-up profiles, etc.

We (me with a friend) created this page https://openwebdefenders.org and planning to create banners for websites that may want to inform their users on what's going on.

If anyone wants to contribute somehow or have other ideas I would be happy to discuss on https://github.com/openwebdefenders/web/issues

They are legally obliged to, lmao. After companies become public, they have to maximize profits, if not, shareholders can simply vote to fire whomever they want. Look at every company on earth. They all with the same road. from facebook, google, to soon-to-be-public reddit.

I've been using FF on mobile for couple of weeks now, I dont see any major issues, in fact, no issues at all. Plus, it has extension support.

Why do people hate FF on mobile?

Nah, it is how they spawn. Like a meteor.

Switched to Linux - Fedora, PopOs, Mint 5-6 years ago, never looked back. But there is 3 months gap, when I built my PC I installed windows on it and used for some time. The worst computing experience I had in last 5 years.
