Today, tomorrow, every day.
After Thunderbird's UI overhaul I jumped around a bit and landed on Claws Mail. It's fairly old fashioned, but I personally prefer that and find it clear and logical. It's a good client.
Profit ended too soon, Dexter went on way too long.
I've been using this for a few months now. It's really good. A normie might want to look in to Slowroll though for extra stability. Is Slowroll even out yet?
That fucking album though, holy shit.
It may not be a good Super Mario movie, but I enjoy it.
Well, some specs as to what kind of hardware you have, and what kind of software you intend to use (browsing, gaming, editing, what ever). Maybe a word on what kind of desktop experience you are looking for (Windows, Mac, something else). Do you absolutely need the latest versions of software. Tell us what you need from your OS.
You speak correctly.
Sure. I try to disable or disconnect cameras and microphones when possible. My laptop's camera has tape on it and on my PinePhone I've disabled the camera with a switch.
Don't worry, they will outlive us.
Gentoo has the best package manager I've ever used. But is it worth it? Depends on your expectations. It's a great distro if you are willing to invest the time and do the work. I would never recommend it to a new user who just wants something that works, but a tech savvy user who is ready to learn (also from mistakes)? Sure, go for it. For me, an update eventually broke it to a point where it was no longer worth the effort, but for a few years I did enjoy tinkering with it. The control you get is intoxicating.
My experience is from mid-00's, so things may have changed. From other's comments however, the core experience seems to be the same. I would not install it myself anymore, but that's not to say it's a bad distro.
People trying to have long-form discussions on Twitter/X has baffled me since the beginning. It is decidedly not the right platform for that and it was never designed to be. In fact, its design clearly discourages any meaningful discourse. I have never been able to wrap my head around that site and its users.
