This'd be a neat way to digitize old manuscripts...

Are you on oftc?

[-] billgamesh@lemmy.ml 1 points 5 months ago

Quite possible.

I'm not sure I understand this statement? Isn't that what the article says?

[-] billgamesh@lemmy.ml 1 points 7 months ago

Fair enough, but it should not be considered "incognito"

[-] billgamesh@lemmy.ml 1 points 7 months ago

Yeah. I like the config file being really easy to set up... permit persist user permit nopass user cmd poweroff permit otheruser cmd [whatever]

I'm just bad at reading sarcasm sometimes. Probably you were obvious and it went over my head

I can see where this came from. ARM and RISC-V are both reduced instruction set computer (RISC) architechtures but are not the same. Arm is a proprietary ISA originally from Acorn. Risc-v is a new ISA developed completely open-source

EDIT: also, not to be killjoy, but for clarity "research arm" means apendage or division and is completely unrelated

I did this with my dad's old tapes. get an av to usb converter on amazon, plug camera into computer. play and records with ffmpeg or vlc

May I recommend further a good desktop pc w/upgradable parts and a used thinkpad laptop for travelling? You can get a good thinkpad for work and small games for $20-50 and they tend to last forever and be easy to repair. my favorite is X series
