apolitical people I guess don't think that way. They aren't in the news therefore they don't exist. I should have said as much (or brought up PSL) but I was just holding my tongue trying not to hurt feelings in the process of conveying "yikes, I would not vote for rfk". It was a family gathering of sorts so I didn't want to get too spicy and I genuinely do like this person, didn't realize they were quite that into woo about chemicals (also said aluminum is bad for you and some other stuff that I was like "is it though?")
I turn off watch history entirely
It nags you to turn it back on and completely disables the homepage recommended/popular feed but I've grown to like it a lot. I still go through my subscriptions tab to find stuff to watch, and I still get related videos on individual videos that I watch that I can hop to if I want to explore outside that bubble of existing subscriptions. It's like going back to 2014 youtube or whenever they started making the homepage purely algorithmic
Drunk enough to have that weird kinda clarity.
weirdly I always have this after drinking semi-heavily. After waking up but before the headache has fully set in.
Good luck surviving the monster overhang. I'm glad you didn't die
I guess there's c/art but I can see where a pics comm would be nice
For anyone familiar with lithium iron phosphate who is wondering: they did in fact improve the energy density over typical LFP:
To improve the energy density, CATL introduced its in-house 3D honeycomb material. As a result, the Shenxing Plus has an energy density of 205 Wh/kg, comparable to most traditional NCM batteries.
https://electrek.co/2024/04/25/catl-unveils-worlds-first-lfp-battery-4c-ultra-fast-charging/
And without compromising on charging speed:
CATL claims the new EV battery is the world’s first with 4C ultra-fast charging and +620 miles (1,000 km) CLTC range.
They must be doing some serious cooling
saying the Jews shouldn't have an ethnostate is ackshully anti-semitic
Those two lines in that order had me reaching for the report button until I reread and realized what you meant lol
I don't think that's the only reason but maybe I'm wrong. Like airlines, they try to pack planes as full as possible, to the point of overbooking flights and betting there will always be cancellations... But amtrak rarely seems to run a full train, at least in my part of the country. Why not lower the price in the last week or few days or whatever before the trip, to fill out the empty seats and make more money? not even like, below the base price, just not the peak price bucket.
Like its not a killer amount of money, but it is like, physically painful psychologically, and makes amtrak much less compelling compared to cheaper flights and buses.
I guess the high price buckets ensure people with money can almost always get a seat, but idk why amtrak really cares, those people are taking first class flights except maybe in the NE corridor
mixed bag but it probably hasn't been a great idea for ages. I haven't actually seen cameras in regular rental cars yet but I'm certain they gps track them at least. Same with rental trucks from the hardware store. Seems like fleet vehicles were the first to get the cameras (and attendant machine learning monitoring your driving), but it's spreading. And its all 4G streaming video too (probably with some significant limits for bandwidth purposes, maybe it only streams a low res by default or slow stream of thumbnails)
For whatever it's worth, your parents requirement that you let them track you at all times just to go to school, is not actually particularly reasonable. Less than 10 years ago that would have been seen as insane helicopter parent behavior. But that's probably outside your control, so if they won't budge on it you could at least ask them to use an app that isn't google maps. This would work if you were willing to self host it or something, or OsmAnd seems to have that feature integrated with telegram
The drone you can probably replace DJI Fly with sideloaded Dronelink: https://support.dronelink.com/hc/en-us/articles/15304402363411-Mini-3-Mini-3-Pro-Support-Overview but no guarantees it will work better on graphene than DJI Fly
As far as instagram goes, you're pretty much stuck with trying to push people off of it for messaging afaik, or just locking down the app as much as you can. A VPN could prevent them from seeing your IP, and locking down the app's permissions as much as possible would be a good idea too, but honestly the main thing is to just push for a different messenger. I got my friend group to switch a few times over the years. But it took a long time, and a decent chunk of them are tech-y people
ha
hahah
that would never happen to me
