I was in your position recently and decided to install PVE from scratch and restore VMs from backup.

I had a fairly complex PVE config so it took some additional work to get everything up and running. But it was absolutely worth it.

You can probably find a visual walkthrough of the GUI by searching youtube.

There's a login page. After you authenticate, there's a live view page, a review/recordings page if you are recording to SD card in camera, and a few settings pages.

I'd say you could absolutely access the camera standalone, but at least the cameras I have don't do any detection or notifications. That's where the NVR comes in. I know reolink has cameras that do all of the above including AI detection.

Have you tried or do you have any knowledge about utilizing the display ports on the gpu while virtualizing either in lieu or in tandem with streaming displays?

I run a few servers myself with proxmox. FYI there is a script that removes that nag screen as well as configures some other useful things for proxmox self-hosters.

I haven’t. I doubt it would solve all of the problems I experience.

Anybody downvoting me can share their experience running protools with multiple hardware fader interfaces and 18 input DAW interface, pci SDI cards, and 6 separate display monitors.

Adobe software, Davinci Resolve, 3ds Max and its 20 plugins. None of these work or work seamlessly in Linux.

I can’t even get my surround sound to work properly in Ubuntu without having to manually adjust multiple convoluted conf files.

That’s the truth. I love Linux. I use Debian and Ubuntu on a bunch of servers I run. But fanboys need to stop deluding themselves into thinking it’s easy or even worthwhile to use Linux in lieu of Windows for anything and everything. I would be ecstatic if that changed.

Bingo! Feeling a bit stupid for missing that but thankfully that was the issue and now everything is working perfectly. Thank you.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

I have not. I try to avoid apps if I can.

My network is currently setup with wireguard. I have a VPS operating as a hub within a hub and spoke (or is it hub and wheel?) configuration. This has worked great with the exception that all traffic passes through the VPS. The benefit of a mesh network is that I can directly connect clients and data does not have to flow through an intermediary VPS.

So each time I get shut down is during a large extended data transfer. I have my VPS server set up as a VPN hub that connects multiple servers. So typically when my traffic gets diverted to a black hole by DO, there was a consistent roughly 35MB/s inbound/outbound vpn traffic stream for 4-5 hours going through the VPS. My server gets shut down for 3-4 hours and I get a email notice that my server was under a massive DDoS attack and they diverted traffic to a black hole. I always respond informing them that it’s not a DDoS and explain the situation. They typically respond with “Utilize a service like Cloudfare which has DdoS protection”.

I’ve been really happy with them as a provider otherwise but this is a dealbreaker for me.

3-4 coats of Epifanes Marine Grade Gloss Spar Varnish followed by 1-2 coats of Epifanes Matte Varnish. Possibly the best exterior finish available.

Which one of those do you suggest over the other? GPT4 suggests LibreElec might run better on lower spec hardware like the Pi.
