That's the plan, undercut funding for US AI labs, also the main reason they've been releasing open source models after spending millions to train them essentially getting zero financial return. They didn't release them for the love of FOSS or just donate that capital for the lolz.

Depends which prison and how high ranking you are.

If you want system usages to be as low as possible you can skip a GUI all together, just use viu, mpv, w3m and such or you can look into projects like DSL (damn small Linux) and puppy Linux. If you're trying to maintain a mostly normal experience you can look into efficiencies in compiling your kernel and software a la Gentoo.

How life emerges from a simple particle motion law: Introducing the Primordial Particle Systems Self-structuring patterns can be observed all over the universe, from galaxies to molecules to living matter, yet their emergence is waiting for full understanding. We discovered a simple motion law for moving and interacting self-propelled particles leading to a self-structuring, self-reproducing and selfsustaining life-like system. The patterns emerging within this system resemble patterns found in living organisms. The emergent cells we found show a distinct life cycle and even create their own ecosystem from scratch. These structures grow and reproduce on their own, show self-driven behavior and interact with each other. Here we analyze the macroscopic properties of the emerging ecology, as well as the microscopic properties of the mechanism that leads to it. Basic properties of the emerging structures (size distributions, longevity) are analyzed as well as their resilience against sensor or actuation noise.

Yeah, there's a push to no ownership or everything as a service with user data collection and ads. A more than good reason to use and support FOSS and non-profits. We're starting to see governments adopting Linux so that's good, corporations will follow and maybe just maybe there will be a proper pushback on that trend.

Anything is a sex toy if you try hard enough.

Typically when a service is free you are the product. This is a good example.

Getting people fighting over political identity is a classic move. If they dare befriend one another then that's a problem. Remember, never get over your differences, the rich and powerful depend on it. Politics is religion2.0 where you are unquestionably right and anyone who disagrees with you is the spawn of Satan sent to earth to destroy everything and you should hate them eternally without an ounce of doubt.

The trick is to get them fighting about anything besides how the rich are abusing the poor. Get them fighting over race, culture, sexuality, political affiliation, immigration, gender, really anything will work. The moment they start waking up just hit them with a new crisis like an impromptu war or domestic terror attack, even a pandemic if you really need to.
