They seem pretty cool!

Unfortunately I can't eat them, since the one thing they can't seem to certify on is gluten... May be pretty good gifts though.

I'm on the east coast myself, in my 40s, also tech (mostly hardware/design, but some software in support of that hw or just doing something experimental).

I will 100% show up with a T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. If I have a meeting or its the fall/spring, I have a sportjacket, but I've admittedly shown up in a zip up hoodie before (though that was specifically in a space I was doing some concepting in, not a boardroom).

Client meetings with their c-suite will get a collar, but its a golf shirt in the summer.

That said, I work from home pretty much exclusively, so its all t-shirts now. I wouldn't even worry about straight up Donald Duck'ing it if it were more comfortable (its not).

I think its just generational.

Social security is not identification though. We can't call it that because its a crap ID. Closer would be RealID, but that's still reliant on the state.

So I'd disagree saying SS is a national ID, its a number not identification.

There are CSS, JavaScript, and HTML for babies books.

I've never seen/found a Linux one though.

Computer Engineering for Babies is good. Its just a couple of buttons, an LED, and logic (and, or, xor, not, etc)

Can someone like that actually be rehabilitated

I doubt it. Which is why I'm a fan of letting them disappear forever in a prison, and never have the opportunity ever again to harm a child.

or can they serve as an example of what happens to monstrous pieces of shit like that?

Also doubt it.

These sort of people will not recognize their own actions as being wrong, and they also wont "learn" from the punishment of others.

So the only thing public torture would do is provide a spectacle for those who enjoy it. It won't deter anything. There used to be public hangings, stocks, etc - which also was not stopping the crimes from happening.

Work for... What exactly?

Server requirements vary, depending on what they are doing.

ETA: I run about a dozen servers at home. Of them, none are more than what you have there. And I run a lot of services on each. Its what they are doing that matters.

Which also came back in a Lower Decks episode with Ferengi (who end up turning their poaching camp into a mugato habitat)

That's the currently polled support % iirc. Not that it's a guaranteed pass, just that is where the support is currently at.

Edit: yup, that's the polling

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/08/14/florida-abortion-amendment-poll/74766606007/

Some polls show 55%, some 58%, some 63%. Unfortunately it will require 60% to pass, so we will see what happens.

The annoying thing is those that are against have like half the support, the remaining percent are undecided/unaware.

If I were a betting man, I'd say Trump is going to confuse Haley and Harris again.

As a DA, her record shows a focus on keeping non-violent criminals out of jail, and violent criminals in it.

She started the back on track program as well.

So her position, I think, is pretty clear. I don't agree with the drug crime approach, but in general I approve of her approach as a DA/AG.

That said - I do thoroughly hope she takes that clip, notes that she has zero criminal convictions, and a (hopefully running) tally of Trump's convictions, and then signs off with "I am Kamala Harris and I approve this message".

Darktable and krita.

Most of the time you don't even need to leave darktable. Great support for raws.

Anything video, kdenlive is ok for quick stuff but davinvi resolve is a cut above.

Honestly Adobe products are not great anymore. Their usability has gone down the toilet imo. xd was the last bit of interest for me, and that went to garbage a long while ago when it went paid only.
