Blue maga, antifa as a violent organization, the "Hebrew school" comment, the claims of supporting genocide when trump definitely would go for more, etc, that's all right wing talking points.

I'm not Jewish, but learned the dradel and a few words, so if I remember right hasbara is explaining-ish? by the state, kind of a propaganda approach. Which yes, what Israel is doing is terrible IMO. I showed my wife yesterday a picture of an area of been to that was a bombed out shell of nothing. The people in Beirut were incredibly nice to me when I went there for work some years back, and knowing some of the area that was bombed just adds to the horrors - and I barely visited.

That doesn't excuse any of the other behavior, and the right wing talking points especially.

You made the Hebrew School comment to me.

So again I'll say - cut the crap.

[-] curbstickle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 weeks ago

As a Democrat

I'm really going to struggle believing you with this considering your other comments, especially the "Hebrew School" bullshit.

Democrat attack dogs

LOL

can't handle anything negative

There are plenty of negatives with the democrats. Literally none of them makes a Trump presidency an option worth seeing.

a third party candidate.

I'm going to correct you on this again. There are zero third party candidates which have any chance in this federal election. NONE*.

They are spoiler candidates. Its what RFK was, its what the Green Party has done for three elections now. This is not a debatable point. The only time Jill Stein shows up is when there is a federal election. This is her purpose. This isn't propaganda, this is her proven track record.

You want third party? LOCAL ELECTIONS. Full stop, if there is no local, there is no federal. And there sure as hell isn't a remote chance of a Presidential win.

Do you know how many Green Party members are currently federal officials? None.

NONE. Not a single one elected to any federal office.

Do you know how many are at the state level? As of today, NONE.

Less than 10 have ever been elected to a state position.

Talking about third parties for a presidential election is pure unabashed bullshit, intended to spoil the election, and the only people they pull votes from is Democrats.

So cut the crap.

At the national level, yes. The only thing they are is a spoiler party in federal elections. Hopefully that changes in the future, but to do that we need to get away from FPTP, and those 3rd parties need to go local first to get recognition.

Local level is an entirely different territory, and there are quite a few third parties in offices.

But in a federal election? Yeah, they are only a spoiler, nothing else.

Its decentralized. A network of autonomous groups, so not as an organization. Because it isn't one.

[-] curbstickle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 weeks ago

Especially about antifa being an "organization", considering its, you know, completely decentralized groups.

So very telling, every time

Because this is where the money is universally going, and no, its not "readily available" for most.

I can do it.

ALS patients and their families, in terms of what's covered, are getting mostly the same as what was available 5-10 years ago. This isn't about focusing on the negative, this is just where things are right now. Services to recreate a voice for tts to folks with ALS or similar issues are insanely expensive, to the point of being exploitative.

So I say it because its the truth.

Hey, you don't get to decide what kind of images rev my engine!

Now if you'll excuse me, I need some alone time with text on a generic background...

The problem is right in the Wikipedia entry - its still way lower sugar than most competitors. So for an on-the-go drink, when the cup from home is dirty... Yeah its a healthier option than the others.

It doesn't make Capri Sun good, its just the others are so sugary that its one of the better options of readily available drinks.

#3 is the route I'm going.

Bigscreen is still pretty rough though, I'm trying to see if I can resolve some open issues to submit back to resolve, but in the meantime I'm going to start playing with flex launcher - https://complexlogic.github.io/flex-launcher/

Its likely to be the way I go as of now.

Lutris to be a gaming interface (retro games and Roms), jellyfin for movies/shows/music, gcompris for some kids educational stuff, etc.

I want to figure out a remote that I like and get some CEC testing done, may look towards using my homeassistant to act as a control system if its a pain (and most CEC is implemented poorly IMO).

But I'm done with stuff like Chromecast, rokus, etc.

There are actually quite a few books written in AAVE...the earliest I'm aware of is their eyes were watching god, from the 1930s. The Color Purple, Beloved, The Sellout, the books of Chester Himes...
