It feels so surreal watching Trump take power. It's like living in a Simpsons cartoon.

As much as I am inclined to agree with the sentiment, that would set a very dangerous precedent and jeopardize future Democrat presidents.

It's not hypocrisy, it's their self-interest. They have a political agenda and are spending their lives doing what they can to enforce it, and that means helping their faction gain a foothold into every aspect of public life, especially raising children which they have said emphatically non-stop is all about forcing younger people who don't have the ability to reject them logically to adopt their beliefs. They only care about making more Christians and shutting out enemies of what they think constitutes Christianity, especially the LGBTQ+ community.

They're being entirely consistent in that light.

I read the article and the authorities were watching the cubs for two days as they watched them die. They first took notice when one dropped dead, and they only intervened when the other three collapsed... 😢😢😢

Because there are objective community standards to how a kid grows and develops in our society and you have to conform to that whether you agree to it or not. You don't have the right to raise your kids however you want and it's a damn good thing you don't. That's how child abuse becomes endemic.

So basically, we're going to have to build a separate internet that rejects this new protocol and allows for alternate browsers. That tactic, combined with piracy and offering everything the big guys charge money for for free, might be enough to draw at least a chunk of the people away from it.

That really is the solution. We desperately need to make our own websites again and boycott the shitty corporate controlled ones. If we can replace Reddit with Lemmy, we can replace every other piece of shit site or app they come up with too.

But they'd have to do it on free Linux computers, because the ones with Windows and Mac OSes (and the specially made chips) can be accessed directly by those companies. In principle, they can see into everyone's hard drives and add or delete shit to their whims. So a way around that would have to be found too. Scary...

🤔 A shitload of us ought to move to towns like that and vote in new leadership that actually represents their majority Black populations. Or we should buy up the land and drive the racists out.
