The ACA, while not perfect, literally saved my life. It prohibits lifetime maximums and eliminated the idea of pre-existing conditions.

Without that, I'd be dead.

Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.

Nothing. They're behaving quite rationally.

You just have to understand that their motivation is not "successful governing" or "making the world better" but rather, "getting more money."

When you view their actions through the lens of self-enrichment, they're behaving quite normally.

Normally, yes.

With this supreme court? Who knows.

I have to believe it's mostly hype. The man was at the helm when OpenAI suddenly "changed the world" with "AI" (note the quotes) but that seems to be almost entirely a case of luck.

Like, generative AI models aren't really brand new. OpenAI just made them really accessible and easy to use for other applications, which is where Altman comes in. He had an ounce of foresight to see the tech was "the future" and a whole lot of luck executing on his plan to bring it to market.

As a figurehead and leader, that does count for a lot, but not the table-flipping freak outs we see happening.

Hey, let's give this Court a chance. They could still ignite a civil war if they tried harder!

Confirmed by the Senate. Republicans have been holding up the confirmation for quite some time. Biden nominated Anna Gomez in March of this year (link) and she was only confirmed by the Senate in early September.

It's rarely that the job won't let you vote, it's that people can't afford to take the time off needed to vote.

Remember, the GOP has spent decades working to disenfranchise voters, and one of the many tactics they use is closing polling stations in areas likely to vote against them, making in-person voting an ardious, hours-long process.

Who do you sue when the lines at the polling stations are 8 hours long?

I have absolutely no problem with tax dollars going to towards the Pell Grant. Giving money to kids for an education is awesome.

I have a big problem when that money is for an education at a private religious school that openly and actively discriminates against protected classes.

Willis: "We will absolutely comply. All evidence will be presented at trial, and become part of the public record. Representative Jordan is free to review the documents at that time."
