I have a PhD in economics. Saying that the field "pledges" to be able to predict the future is pretty disingenuous. You'd be hard pressed to find any serious researcher in the field with that level of delusion.

Changelog media is another good source to complement this rec. Longer form, as opposed to breaking news, conversations about many OSS related (and software development in general) topics. Some of their now defunct programs like Request For Commits were some of my favorites.

I feel productive just looking at this. Well done.

The reality is that virtually all widely used modern codebases contain at least some open source code (source).

I think because I'm so used to a laptop keyboard, uniform profiles just feel better to me.

Glittercliff v1.0 (lemmy.world)
  • 34 keys, wired ortholinear unibody
  • WeAct Pi Pico
  • Choc Silvers (hotswap)
  • Chicago Steno (all R3) in black resin
  • simple 3dp tray case (friction fit at the moment)

This board is helping me fall back in love with chocs. Going to iterate on the design a bit (want to try wireless, PCB solder nuts, tweaks to the case, etc). Shoutout to the friendly folks on the ergogen server for helping with some firmware questions and build troubleshooting. I tried to get a little too cute with the matrix, trying to save pins even though I was nowhere close to running out. But in the end, works like a charm.

Gorgeous! What's the image in the lower right terminal? Random? Or still from something animated?

I love how you basically made a TUI by combining existing tools. Doing something useful without reinventing the wheel.

I tried to distill my favorite features of weteor's magnificent Kong for this layout. I loved the thumb cluster but wanted a split 36 key layout. Designed for a pair of socketed purple Pi Picos I had from a previous build. Built with Outemu Cream Yellows.

Perhaps not in as much need as TIA, but I like the concept behind https://academictorrents.com/ and seed what I can

Note: It seems this repo might be a bit out of date. Thanks to @wiki_me@lemmy.ml, some alternatives to consider:
