Xiaomi's reasoning was they produce different phones for Chinese internal and for global market. A lot of scalpers bought the Chinese version, took it outside China, flashed a global rom and sold it. Chinese versions have limited frequency support and sometimes different chipsets, the problem was buyers of these phones nagged to Xiaomi's support and left bad reviews, even though it wasn't Xiaomi's fault.

Yes, it sounds bullshit, I'm just illustrating, that if you ask companies for reasons, they can tell you some similar stories.

The good part, is that bootloader opening workflow was not the best, but at least acceptable for me compared to Asus'. You had to register your IMEI with a Xiaomi account, than wait a week and you could open it (This was the workflow like 5 years ago, and I still have the same phone, I don't know if they changed it). This way they could slow down the scalpers, and they could see if someone want to mass open a lot of phones at the same time.

You seem to love spreading misinformation on the web. Why are you commenting 4 times if you are not familiar with the topic?

This is an m.2 connector. You have to secure it with a screw on the other side. It's nearly impossible to mess it up.

Apple frequently uses proprietary connectors, I don't know which one you are reffering to. I won't guess because I'm not very familiar with all apple connectors.

You don't have to comment on a topic if you are not familiar with. Please stop.

Here is a detailed review about this laptop: https://www.notebookcheck.net/HP-EliteBook-820-G2-Subnotebook-Review.144671.0.html

It's from 2015, there is a full HD screen version. IIRC there was a big performance step between intel 4th and 5th gen, this laptop is 5th gen. You can still buy new batteries for this model.

It's a Ganz CSMG!

They run on line 2 in Budapest, along the Pest side of the Danube, and sometimes, during higher floods parts of the track are under water, so this scene is actually possible. (In reality no service on the lower parts when they are under water)

There are websites which scrape the play store, and let you download apks without login. The problem is you cannot be sure that you get the same apk as you would get from play store. (But actually you cannot be sure about anything on play store as well: the developers build the apks and upload it, e.g. an attacker impersonating the developer can publish a fake apk to play store.)

With these things in mind, you can download apks from apkpure without login to anything: https://apkpure.com/magic-earth-navigation-maps/com.generalmagic.magicearth Afaik they never had an incident where their apk was different from the one on play, but you cannot be sure when they change their mind.

You don't have to change domain registrar, you just have to point your non dynamic domain's CNAME record to your free dynamic dns address. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CNAME_record This way you can add ddns capabilities to any domain

I don't like when the most important info is two clicks away:

Everything is a versatile platform that enables seamless integration and aggregation of APIs following the Everything API guidelines.

More info about "Everything API": https://github.com/everything-gripe

Lemmy, Tildes and Nostr supported, but as I can see you have to install Everything Middleware on your server first.

Worst name choice though.

There is an addon for that! I use this: WANT MY RSS. This puts an rss icon in the url bar, if there is an rss feed available for the current website. Just click on the icon, and you are subscribed, if you set up your reader beforehand!
