+++++++++++++++=

or use the e/OS installer:

Ive not used thos so cannot comment on how good or bad it is.

https://e.foundation/installer/

+++++++++++++

or e/OS devices list:

https://doc.e.foundation/devices

I dont use the App Lounge or the e/OS launcher

I remove App Lounge via ADB and install either droid-ify or neostore, then install lawnchair

It a decent custom rom.

It doesnt effect me.

I haven't used google search since windows 95.

I switch between Qwant, Startpage, Ecosia, ghosterysearch, mojeek and searxng.deliberate.world

The nearest I get to ai manipulation is when I use Gumtree.

ai is absolutely shit

an example:

I have been looking for a phone to install linux.

I settled on the Oneplus Nord N10 5G

so I searched Gumtree.

Nord N10 5G: is changed to: road nw10 5g, WTF

oneplus Nord N10 5G: is changed to: oneplus nord 110 5g, WTF

Gumtree boosts customer engagement by a third with Phrasee AI.

customer engagement, they got to be fucking joking.

https://lovelymobile.news/gumtree-boosts-customer-engagement-by-a-third-with-phrasee-ai

it seems like they want me to type mobile phone in the search box, and spend 10 hours looking at every fucking phone for sale in the entire UK, until i find the one i want.

proper customer engagement, I wont play that game.

so Gumtree can fuck off

Thank you

I will check it out again if and when I need to do a clean out.

I do create a lot of duplicates as I move and transfer files between 3 laptops.

I use Tuta mail and protonmail.

There is no "unencrypted" transfer between sender and receiver if you both use tuta or proton.

If you send an email to me from a Gmail account, it is unencrypted until it reaches the Tuta servers and the Proton severs, once there it is encrypted and remains so until I login to my account to access the email.

TUTA MAIL:

The entire mailbox – emails, calendar and address book – are stored end-to-end encrypted in Tuta.

Data that Tuta encrypts end-to-end:

Emails, including subject lines and all attachments

Entire calendars, even metadata such as event notifications

Entire address book, not just parts of the contacts

Inbox rules / filters

And the entire search index.

Tuta uses symmetric (AES 256) and asymmetric encryption (RSA 2048 or ECC (x25519) and Kyber-1024 as quantum-safe algorithms) to encrypt emails end-to-end. When both parties use Tuta, all emails are automatically end-to-end encrypted (asymmetric encryption).

PROTONMAIL:

Emails from non-Proton Mail users to Proton Mail users

The email is encrypted in transit using TLS. It is then unencrypted and re-encrypted (by us) for storage on our servers using zero-access encryption. Once zero-access encryption has been applied, no-one except you can access emails stored on our servers (including us). It is not end-to-end encrypted, however, and might be accessible to the sender’s email service.

All messages in your Proton Mail mailbox are stored with zero-access encryption. This means we cannot read any of your messages or hand them over to third parties. This includes messages sent to you by non-Proton Mail users, although keep in mind if an email is sent to you from Gmail, Gmail likely retains a copy of that message as well. Password-protected Emails are also stored end-to-end encrypted.

Subject lines and recipient/sender email addresses are encrypted but not end-to-end encrypted.

Map and navigation replacement: I used to use organic maps but changed to CoMaps.

I prefer CoMaps, you can download the individual maps, save them to your preferred location, and transfer them to other phones.

A family member uses Magic earth because they have E/os installed, and it is the default map and navigation app. they like it.

No ai for me sorry.

Hey Zerush

Safety first

that sounds like hell to me.

If that ever happened, I for certain would stop using the internet, cancel my broadband subscription, buy a dumb phone and act like a dim wit, who hasnt got a clue.

You forgot about a compulsory little placard proclaiming the wonders of our political leader.

Something like;

I love The Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer KCB KC MP.

Now that is a muppet if I ever saw one.

It could be a trumpian version of course for USA residenst.

I love Big Don

So, the UK, as one of the most wealthy countries in the world is ill equiped and doesn't have the resources or talent to make its own medicines.

The NHS is more privatised that we care to think.

An example:

I have just had an ENT (ear nose and throat) appointment at my local hospital because I cannot hear in my left ear

The waiting room wasn't packed solid, staff were friendly, there was calm and efficiency all around, Unlike other waiting rooms I have visited.

I had a scan, all was OK. its just old age.

I had a long chat with the ENT specialist.

He told me that the building I had my NHS appointment in, was in fact a private part of the hospital.

hidden within the grounds of an NHS hospital, hiding in plain sight with NHS signage, is a privatised hospital wing.

He told me about the extreme costs that the NHS has to pay because of having to use prefered approved providers (politically connected suppliers) for all its medical equipment.

He pointed at all the medical machines (monty python, machines that go ping) in the room and said that his brother, a specialist in private practice, has exactly the same medical devices in his Slovakian practice that cost him £5,000.

Whereas the NHS has to pay up to £100,000 for exactly the same devices, because they are unable to source cheaper suppliers. they have restrictive contracts that forbids them from buying cheaper and better products from another supplier.

He told me that this is what is drainig NHS coffers of money that should be going to patient care.

Another case of hidden politically driven VIP lanes draining the NHS of its funding.

sem

That does seem normal to me

I aways install Ghostery and Privacy Badger alongside U-block origin

I have Lineage on my current phone and use Droid-ify as my app store.

My family have different phones and use F-droid-basic and neostore, and they have had no issues installing extra addons in their ironfox installs.

Hey TheLeadenSea

I was unware that certain banks had different ways to access bank accounts.

I'm such a dinosaur sometimes.

I did think it was as easy as my experience. but clearly not.

Thank you

Thank you glimse

I Know. Lame duck.

I completely messed up my post. I got severely distracted ranting on and on.

Thats the main trouble with getting old.

Forgetting starts slowly, then all of a sudden you are rushed to hospital unable to remember your name.

I was talking about haventgotsacluetube (youtube) and not boatracecrook.

I do hope people will see through my obvious error
