A little bit, yes. The electric version of my current car is only 200kg heavier. For context, it’s a small, compact city car.
But cars are getting huge in general, EV or not. A current gen VW Polo is bigger than an older VW Golf. All the while the Polo is (still is) the smaller brother of the Golf.
For critical safety information/warnings, I’m on the side of the authorities here. Same reason that emergency stops on machinery should have clear, contrasting colours.
If it were about the font size for the clock or the AC, I’d be on your side, though.
Docker costs money? What?
Exactly. Around the world, western countries seem to be enshittifying. The only difference is that the US has widespread access to guns which seems to lead to lots of shootings of all flavours. We don’t have that shit here.
As the joke goes, I got a free 3d printer with my purchase of flush cutters. Good stuff.
Bonus tip: get as many as you need, and then a couple more. Sounds like I’m some kind of salesman, but trust me. I bought some to create a simple charging station for my vr controllers. Works great. Now I want some more to charge other things with the cables I already have laying around (I had some more). Didn’t have the right adapter pieced for in my devices. (Needed usb c, only had micro b and lightning). Now, a few years after I bought them to make that charging stand thingy, they don’t sell this exact one anymore. Bummer.
You can save your bitlocker key to your Microsoft account, which makes it easier for non-techies.
For years I thought it was a figure of speech, like elbow grease…
Doesn’t look like it’s available in the US.
That's a bummer. Hoping for you they get at it soon, though. I for one love it, since I barely have to move around money anymore between my different budgeting piggy banks anymore. It's all automatic :D
My bank, bunq, allows that. I do remember people talking about using it as a US citizen. Might be worth looking into.
Taking risks for the sake of innovation, fine, I guess it has to be done to move forward. However, building a submersible that can go to these depths is nothing new. Been there, done that, basically. To throw all lessons learnt with previous vehicles out with the garbage is just monumentally stupid.
In this context, maybe it kinda does. We tend to be techies, so a bit more accustomed to shitty UI/UX than most users.
