These are incredibly important reports to publish and spread awareness of....but I kind of wish I hadn't read them today.

I accidentally ended up at a religious university for medical school and you better believe I've gotten in numerous fights with the law and ethics professor (who, to be fair, is actually a MD/JD) regarding the prescribed conservative religious approach to the ethics discussions. I absolutely did not change his mind, but I did get a bunch of my classmates to start asking questions by putting myself out there and challenging the professor on their BS.

Edit: I should clarify that these fights were on mic in the recorded lectures, so there's a hard record of my arguing with him.

Pray tell...what are these "normal" things you think suburban women worry about? I suppose it is abnormal on a global scale for them (us) to have to worry about it because it's a non-issue in actually civilized countries.

This is why I'm sad to be losing him in Minnesota, but he's going to be good for the country as a whole.

Walz’s ascension to the ticket leaves questions for Minnesota. Under the state Constitution, Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan would become governor if Walz resigns, but he’s not on the ballot in Minnesota this fall, meaning he could wait until after the November election to step down. Flanagan, a member of the White Earth Nation, would become Minnesota’s first woman and first Native American governor.

I'm currently a medical student in my clinical rotations....

Me: "So it looks like we're due for our (blank) month/year vaccinations. Have those been done already or do we need them today?"

Parent: "Oh, we're not vaccinating."

Me: screaming internally

This is insulting to 10 year olds.

Domestic abuse isn't just physical violence, it can also include manipulation, coercion, and other forms of control.

As a medical student that gets nonsense like this as question stems on exams: "confused and horrified screaming"

Even if they don't die now, there's complications that can kill them that happen 2 months later (for the more dangerous one), or 7-10 years later (for the sneaky one). Measles is a nasty virus and there's a long list of damn good reasons why everyone who possibly can should be vaccinated against it.

Plotted, and executed. He just didn't succeed.
