This may be different. Protests were not partisan. There was uproar from those without deep pockets across the whole spectrum. While I don't doubt some dipshits will still do it, it'll probably be fewer than other, more hyper-partisan issues.

Let's say you were doing shady, illegal shit for some mob boss-wannabe. You know a lot of shit. Have emails, phone messages, recorded meetings, and one day you're picked up on charges for something you did for the boss.

You have two choices, go to jail for 10-15 years or take a plea deal where you give up all evidence on the boss and in return are given only probation. You'd really give up a portion of your life in federal prison for that guy?

That's the situation that this kind of shit is used for. He didn't get this light sentence for nothing. Most of these people are spineless tools that were used and thrown under the bus by someone higher on the chain than themselves.

You might need to reread the comment you replied to.

That's why he's dodging a debate with her. It would be like 2-hours of her laughing through his mic, even with her muted mic, while he flops around like Magicarp trying to answer simple policy questions without resorting to name calling and complaining about being unable to flush documents down a toilet!

Thank you for the catbox file! Seriously, she sounds fun and perfectly normal. However, to the repressed conservative, I can understand their scorn. If they can't laugh without going to hell then no one can!

You'd think the writers of the last couple Game of Thrones seasons shot him!

And if a company makes a negligent decision, which kills a million people over time, why is no one being put on death row? They can and do have it both ways, but I can still wish for a just world where if companies are people, they can be put to death for mass casualties caused by their decisions.

Exactly, this! uBlock Origins will block upwards of thousands of ads/trackers/whatever from YouTube. After it hits about 50k+, it'll start to act strangely. At that point I just refresh the video and it all goes away. I think this happens when YouTube changes something cached in the browser, which was originally not blocked by uBO, even when uBO might have been updated to block the new stuff. I have uBO on auto-update for this reason. Whenever I notice shit not working, F5 FTW!

Old enough to remember the Ambrosia Software game, Escape Velocity? That game had a shareware setup involving a really powerful ship that would message you several times in a game and eventually get so annoying it was almost impossible to play. If you accidentally shot him, he's ruin you. Oh, gone are the days of true "try before you buy."

Lying? No, not the guy who single-handedly lead a small band of Spartan's against the entire Persian empire!

As a millennial, I've all but given up on seeing any meaningful change in what remains of my life. I'm tired of living on hopeium that boomers will get the fuck out of positions of power so some of the very obvious lies the wealthy told them, of which was regurgitated and believed by them and us, can start to be fixed. They lied about everything from going to college to get a better job, to the TWO, "once in a generation" economic crashes, to the over-bloated military industrial complex, to a botched global pandemic, to the gaslighting about fossil fuels and global warming, I'm done. I just try find candidates and causes that seem to genuinely want change and throw what little extra money my wife and I have at them.

My hope is that the Gen-Z kids continue to not give a fuck about shaking up the system and use their superior knowledge of technology to finally out these dinosaurs in Congress and enact some real change. I just don't have any fight left in me, especially after COVID and the very obvious lies being told, to our face this time, that COVID was no big deal, all so some wealthy boomer could eat in a restaurant and get their hair done.

I see this attitude reflected in many of my peers, too. It's a generational burnout on life, and the best I can muster is to throw support behind those with fight left in them.

I'm tired of being tired, ya'll...
