Professor here facing the same problem. I am bounded by administrative procedures with grandma school administrators.

I use Linux at home, of course. Debloated my Win11 machine at work but hope to use Linux instead everyday.

For teachers, I guess they're the biggest figure for students as they grow up. Confucian culture emphasizes enormous respect, and tbf, conformity to teachers.

I grew up wanting to be a YouTuber, and now work as a professor somewhere in East Asia with deep Confucian influence. The teacher-student dynamics here is truly shit.

Never support a monopoly. Enshitification always follows from monopoly power, not the lack thereof.

I don't deny that YouTube has its great merits, but bundling ads with content is not one of them. Especially not pop-up ads.
