I don't know whether I would be comfortable murdering pokemon, but if the gameplay turns out to be great, I would give it a try. I think I'll wait on this one until it develops a bit and there are enough reviews to balance out early adopter (dev friends & family) bias.

I don't think regular users have access to that info on lemmy. (Maybe you're thinking of a kbin feature?)

It would be nice to see the current trend of ever-increasing software bloat turn around in favor of better efficiency. Reducing our power consumption and replacing our hardware less frequently would definitely help the environment.

Are you saying that the parent poster is giving incorrect information?

Yes. mosiacmango's comment repeated what others had already said (right down to specific words that I used in the original thread and here), and then jumped to this conclusion:

Pretty clear that this is a very old screenshot of what is now a non issue.

Everything about that statement is false. While the circumstances made it seem likely that the screenshot was old, it was not clearly so, and in fact, it turns out the issue is still present. I checked it. A registration email from the test I ran yesterday looked just like the screenshot in question, cleartext password and all.

Given that Larian reported the issue fixed three years ago, it's possible that they fixed it locally and some time later upgraded to a new version of the forum software, thereby overwriting the local fix. Perhaps mosiacmango should have considered that before posting incorrect speculation as if it were fact.

Nice to see they turned the extension into a built-in feature.

Heh... After it became clear that Mol and her gang weren't going to return my stuff, I decided turnabout was fair play, and robbed them all blind.

It would be hilarious if the patch made Mol confront me about it.

Not to worry. I think this qualifies as a "cold day in Hell" situation.

Every step of Wow64 progress brings a smile to my face. I look forward to being able to run my old 32-bit Windows software without having to maintain 32-bit libraries & utilities in my Linux installation.

curl --silent https://myipv4.p1.opendns.com/get_my_ip | jq --raw-output '.ip'
curl --silent https://eth0.me
curl --silent https://ifconfig.me/ip
curl --silent https://ipecho.net/plain
curl --silent https://ipinfo.io/ip
dig @resolver4.opendns.com myip.opendns.com +short

That last one is generally much faster than the rest.

Also, you can add -w '\n' to curl commands to make it add a newline.

I wonder how this decision relates to the Microsoft acquisition.
