Nabucasa is what I do as I never managed to understand properly network rules. What your thoughts on wireguard?

[-] paf@jlai.lu 1 points 1 week ago

Ok, so wireguard seems a better alternative for him. Thanks

I will look for a fanless ups as I'm kinda sensitive to noise and everything is setup in my living room..., I will make sure I have the mute option available.

Shouldn't be an issue, power outage here are mostly about one second (5 at max) and even if my printer is being halted, my glass bed stick so much that my print don't pop off by themselves, I always use a scraper even when completely cool down.

Actually I could even run Klipper on mini pc but would need a very long usb to reach printer and thought it wasn't ideal. As for the mini pc, I'm running proxmox but I'm far from being an expert so not sure if I can manage CPU scaling.

First time I heard of online usv (also English isn't my main language), will have to check this out

You can use an helper to toggle from one to another and use an automation to trigger it (or a simple switch on your dashboard).

But if I were you, I would use a community add-on as dual AC isn't a niche, I guess it will keep being updated in future. I've been using some community add-on for a couple of years and none have been dropped til now.

Instead of using a community add-on, you can create two generic thermostat. https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/generic_thermostat/

In winter, you won't need to care much as heating will help to keep low humidity, the rest of the year, I would say you can keep pla roll out about a week before storing it but personally (living in 60-85% humidity climate), I just let it out so I'm ready to print. If I start a print after about a week, stringing will likely appear but if stays out for about a month, filament will become brittle.

Damn, if I had more electronics knowledge I would have build one. Does it actually integrate with home assistant?

Many reason to prefer ZigBee, can handle more devices than WiFi, better security as it is separated from WiFi devices, mesh system, response quicker than WiFi, low energy, built for smart home (unlike wifi), and a few other reasons I don't have in mind at the moment.

thanks for helping, I'm running a VM with HA OS (proxmox), i just realised that z2m crash when trying to pair those devices and watch dog isn't starting z2m back. I might load a backup when i was using my raspberry with conbee 2 and replace sonoff dongle by conbee 2 to see if same thing is happening which would indicate it has something to do with my proxmox VM

here are the logs when i try to pair:

here are the devices that failed to pair: https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/WSDCGQ11LM.html (i have 3 of those and one is failing to pair)

https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/TH02Z.html#tuya-th02z (did a mistake as i have 2 of them and none are pairing)

couple more devices that fails since i started thi post: https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/AB3257001NJ.html#osram-ab3257001nj

Edit: HA fail to load my backup file, saying it needs a .tar file (but i did point to a .tar file), will do a fresh install and load my backup to see if same is happening

Edit2: issue with backup file was due to firefox, works in chrome

Edit3: using my backup and conbee, everything works fine (at one exception, a zigbee remote which i remember was a pain to setup. remote is paired but not working yet... https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/FUT089Z.html
