Really love the side panel. I dont see those done vertically very often, and yours looks good.

Can you share pics with this door? How do you walk outside and have it lock behind you?

I used nixos-mailserver with success, and very little configuration. Most of it was dns, and thr guide walked me through it. You would have to a nixos box somewhere though. I spun one up on my vps for it.

It was not configured correctly. Its a nixos bug. Thanks for pointing out the daemon config its what lead me down to solving the docker problem.

What database client do you use? Maybe a plain database is enough with the right client.

You could always dip your toe into a tiling window manager instead of a desktop environment. Its got an initial learning curve, and it helps to have something to do to learn it, and not just playtesting it.

I use Vutlr. They have a nice UI.

Do you use a dock or bar? I find it hard to justify it these days. It tells me the time, thats about it.

Cool project! I love CLI widgets like these. I've made a couple! Something that would be cool for this project is a way to pipe a script in, like cat script.sh | to-html and it read the file line by line. But that could be difficult! Last I knew, clap doesn't make that functionality very easy to validate! Again, great idea and I hope this gets shared with more people.

Thats been a fear of mine moving to nixos. Glad to know it'll cover most of my software needs.
