Cute cat too, but I suspect the cat she transformed into has probably already died

I think it mainly means that Google invests a lot more money in the quality of its navigation for cars than bicycles, meaning that they think it's pretty likely that the cycling directions might lead you into a place where it might not be a good idea to cycle.

The funny thing is that when Chrome was first released, I was pretty excited that open source web engines were becoming more widely adopted.

Whatever one thinks of the current dominance of Chrome, I vastly prefer it to the time when Internet Explorer 6 had >90% market share. Open standards and FOSS technologies really are a winning cause even if the end products aren't always FOSS.

It is a job and at a job you follow instructions you get even if you think they are stupid.

Richard Stallman has suggested "Ex-Twitter". Maybe we should say that.

for fuck's sake why does this get upvotes here

For teenage me the Internet was the only escape from the horribleness and stress of my offline life. Probably for many current teenagers too (if you are one of them: trust me, life will get better as an adult). There is no way I will ever support "keeping children off the Internet" and not just because it requires adults too to verify their age, also because it is a bad idea in the first place. Teenagers might not always make great decisions about everything, but this is also true of adults.
