"Everyone deals in absolutes" sure sounds a lot like an absolute. It's easier to fall into using absolutes in short form, instantaneous internet comments.
Not starving to death is not a "reward" and judging ones worth by their ability to provide labor is a disgusting point of view.

Pretty sure when I saw the original post talking about the design, they said the students were only working with electric leaf blowers. So this was designed to make electric leaf blowers even quieter.
I've had a hobby project on the back burner for quite a while using some esp8266s and thermal cameras for presence detection. Got one working pretty well in a small room.
I use Dvorak too! Have it configured on a custom mechanical keyboard so I don't have to change anything in the OS either.
