Hi again!

I am trying to improve the security for my website, but I am unsure of which paths federation and API traffic hits, and which paths should be exempt from e.g. Javascript challenges? Could somebody give me some insight into this?

Oh wait, IT COSTS MONEY?!? Oh noo... Anyway, I wanted the help smaller indie game communities get shown, so they won't have to be spread across 20 different generic instances.

I think it's my front-end which made the links into links with []() markdown syntax as well. I'm gonna fix that. Thanks!

Yea, that is to the post announcing we created this community. In hindsight, not the best decision.

That happens on some frontends, like Boost. Works fine on the website!

For the past couple of weeks, some of us moderators of the subreddit r/Silksong, have been working on an exciting project. We’ve created a lemmy instance for fans of indie games. We officially run and support this instance and the Silksong community on it. Please check it out at !Silksong@indie-ver.se

I invite you, current users of the Fedi-verse, to join us at @indie-ver.se, subscribe and interact with the communities there, as they grow. So we can support both a more free internet, and indie game communities. See you soon!

also r/Balatro joined at !Balatro@indie-ver.se

Posting on r/Silksong helps a lot. We've been in contact with many moderators all across Reddit, trying to get them to join us, but that is still developing.

Hi everyone! For some reason, this instance weren't receiving updates for posts made on this community and !Games@lemmy.world, even though federation is working for posts made on e.g. !Silksong@indie-ver.se

Subscribing to both communities, and then going to the post on an alt account, made all the comments on the post show up. Very weird.

I am trying to do lemmy-federate but that requires a guarantee fediseer, so it might take a while... We already have over 100 subscribers from many different instances, so I don't think bot account will be necessary.

What? Nah, we da' sanest people around.

[-] ssnoer@indie-ver.se 1 points 2 weeks ago

Thank you! Didn't know frontends supported this.

We are not a pr team? We are not advertising the game? We are launching a new instance for indie game communities.

Actually, you could pose the same question with Anubis

Cloudflare's "Bot Fight Mode", the Cloudflare captcha, is great at preventing bots, but I am afraid it might block federation related traffic.

Does anybody have actual experience in this regard? Is there anyone who has successfully deployed Lemmy with "Bot Fight Mode", maybe with some exceptions configured?
