Really? They're absolutely everywhere on Lemmy:

  • IDF has fabricated evidence of Hamas using hospitals.
  • Israel is responsible for Hamas' own actions, often including the 7 October attack.
  • Hamas are noble freedom fighters against an occupation. The ends justify the means.

Merely challenging some of these points can get you banned on a few instances.

But you're not researching, hiring, and scheduling a contractor to fix it. You don't need to become an expert in long term planning and anticipate problems. You're not mentally cataloging basic maintenance tasks like when you last painted the siding or mowed the lawn.

Home ownership vs renting goes beyond equity and I know a lot of people who were happy renting because it gave them a huge chunk of free time back for trips, hobbies, etc.

People moved there because anything inside 128 costs a million dollars. I have friends with pretty good jobs who can't hope to afford to live closer to Boston. MA has their "MBTA Communities" upzoning push but it doesn't go far enough, IMO. We need to eliminate single family zoning entirely.

Reel it back in cuz it's more complicated than that. Modi is a very recent development and India is very proud of their government and country through their fight for Independence. I hope they can kick that donkey's ass out soon because they deserve better.

KSA primarily offers stability, not profitability. They provide oil to US allies and counter Iran's influence. Also notably, until the 2022 escalation, KSA was also the #1 oil importer for China.

There's about as much discourse here as rival football hooligans having it out in the streets. A lot of violence but it doesn't really change the score. What's the point of talking when no one's listening?

Glancing at Google Maps, a great circle route from Murmansk probably lets you skirt most national airspace.

If you compare the sum of all Western countries together then China loses on both total and per capital so I don't see what your point is. Per your own numbers above, even.

Reliability, height clearances, axle to axle length, tire sizes, etc. It's not like 4x4 + ICE is automatically good at offroading.

NeoLauncher needs a top level comment here! It's a lifesaver after Nova was sold off to a marketing company!

So many FOSS launchers are trying this search based or text oriented thing and sorry, I can't stand it. I just need to be able to unlock my phone and hit an app icon from a grid of selected apps and web shortcuts on my home screen.

In my particular case, that setup sucks for my car. The adapter advertises having a microphone but my car's aux port doesn't have one.

I would use Bluetooth but the car's Bluetooth is the worst damned thing I've ever had the displeasure of using. It sucks even by Bluetooth standards. The car even forbids pairing/unpairing while the car is in drive, which is great for nanny-stating the morons who try to do that while operating the car but what about when I'm the passenger?! The car's mostly used for family road trips and that kind of inflexibility makes it a nonstarter.

Perhaps a I misinterpreted you when you stated "not a lot would have to change". Those sound like some pretty extreme changes from the status quo, actually.

Neo Launcher looks like exactly what I want! Thank you!

IzzyOnDroid

I had seen this referenced a few times in the past couple of weeks but finally got off my butt to check it out. I always install F-Droid but never bothered with extra repos. I guess I'll need to add that to my setup playbook because I'm gonna need Neo on everything now :).

It'd be kind of nice if I could run Ansible on an Android device. Full root backups aren't quite the same thing since I really want to apply the settings to multiple devices, not just splat a disk image on top of things.
