New Zealand is technically part of Australia anyway (when you have something we want to claim).

Is it common for murderers to be released after serving half their sentence?

Why were they even paying him $1m per year in perpetuity when he doesn't even work for the company? Seems like a massive waste of the public investors money on top of a huge exploitation scandal.

Also it's common for anime to be encoded in 10-bit color rather than 8-bit which can also be used to encode files more efficiently.

I used to have pi-hole setup and a housemate complained that he could no longer click on Google ads 🙄

It's not a competition to see who can commit the most war crimes. This whole idea of comparing one faction against another to see who is worse is just stupid. It should not even come into play when someone simply condemns war crimes! The fact that people read so much into a simple statement says more about them than the person who posted it. If someone's reaction to someone saying "war crimes are war crimes even when commited by your allies" is to think "well that person is justifying Hamas's actions" then the problem lies there, just as much as it is to think "that person is saying Israel doesn't have a right to defend themselves".

All it is is making the world more divisive when it should be unifying to condemn the tragic loss of innocent human life. People should not impose their factional viewpoints on something as simple as that.

How can you file a lawsuit in a country you are not a citizen of, against a country you are not a citizen of? Real question.

There's a lot of helpful comments here and being your age is a great time to start tinkering with computers! Just start by installing them into a VirtualBox because if you don't have the knowledge it's very easy to break things and anyone else that has to use the computer isn't going to be very happy with you.

However, I want to point out something that actually address your concerns.

  1. If you are concerned about getting "caught" for torrenting then Windows vs any other OS makes zero difference.
  2. If you are concerned about viruses, Linux is more secure based on the fact that most viruses target Windows. However, this does not mean it is impossible. Learning basic security practices will help you on Windows and much as any other OS.

How does any of this fit into the reality that you can pay $1 per 1000 captchas for a real, actual human to solve them? It seems like so much effort is put into this cat&mouse narrative with bot makers, ignoring the reality that sometimes labour is actually much cheaper.
