The best argument I can see for faster than USB 2.0 speeds is YouTubers that shoot 4k video on iPhones and then need to edit the video. That's a very small number of people though

What % of mobile users plug their phones into a computer to move files on/off them? I'm not even an iPhone user (I have a Pixel 6 Pro) and it's probably been 5+ years since I last moved files over USB on my phone.

Have you ever had bubble tea?

[-] theoc@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

How do you get pearls that are at the bottom of the cup? You drink the tea first and then use a spoon for pearls? Bubble tea requires a straw to properly enjoy. Otherwise you can't get a mixture of both tea and pearls.

How are you going to drink bubble tea without a straw?

What? The climate controls are always visible.. how hard is it to tap or slide your finger on them.

Since it was a rental someone before you probably turned off auto brightness controls.

Polestar 2 has only 1 cupholder and is cramped. I don't get who would buy a Polestar over a Model 3 after test driving both.

Yea, the early ones were bad but current Model 3s and Ys are good.

You're way overpaying. I pay $40 for 1.5 Gbps with Bell FTTH. Give them a call and say it's too expensive and see what they can do for you. Or tell them Rogers (if they're in your area) offered you 1.5gbps for $60 and ask if they can beat that.

As for mobile, you should look at new plans. $39 gets you 20 GB $50 gets you 40 GB. Seems like plenty of data imo https://www.koodomobile.com/en/rate-plans?INTCMP=KM_HDD_2023_Plans_RatePlans_40gbfor45_ROC_MBSK

Best time to get a mobile plan is Black Friday, should be even better deals by then.

No, this person was asked to meet Linus specifically at the hotel lobby. Meeting someone at a hotel lobby is normal and doesn't imply anything. A hotel room would be very different. But the hotel lobby is a normal place for people to meet and chat.

Depends on your region. I'm in Canada and it's 6th here.

We have a Tesla and most owners love them because they're good cars. Cost of ownership is next to nothing and our Model Y had next to no issues so far (scratch on seat when we picked it up which they replaced with a service appointed).

It costs less than $2 per 100 km to run while the prior car cost closer to $20 per $100 km in premium fuel. Also no oil changes or other significant maintenance (spark plugs, transmission oil, etc.) We save $3000 of gas per year and we're in a luxurious/premium car. What I don't understand is why anyone would buy a GLC/Q5/X3 over a Model Y. Who wants to spend $15k on gas in 5 years?
