I always think that Vista was alright, it just took a bullet for every version of Windows that followed. It introduced overdue changes to many long-standing Windows conventions, changes that still stand now. If Windows 7 had been the next one after XP then everyone would have hated that instead.

In Morocco most people stop at red but then they’ll drive down the wrong side of the road to jump the queue and put themselves so far over the line they can’t even see when the lights change.

I tried a bunch on distros when I switched to Linux full time. Currently I have OpenSUSE in my laptop but I don’t think that will last too much longer. I’ve been running Fedora on my main machine for months now and it makes a lot of my other distros just feel clunky.

As long as you can secure them it should be fine, and as long as you can deal with the user account issues. You’ll either need to join them to your Windows domain or explain to people why they can’t use their normal username and password. You’ll probably find the kids understand it better than the teachers.

Bit of a noob but what’s the practical differences between Apt and the others. I use Fedora and the only difference I notice is that instead of typing apt update and apt upgrade, I just type dnf update.

To be honest, I’ve had a Twitter account for years but didn’t really use it. I would only go on Twitter once every few months. Since everyone’s talking about it now because of Musk I think about it more and use it a little more. Maybe once a week. I wonder if the lost users are being replaced by people like me.

The government’s cancelled the bit about scanning messages. That shouldn’t surprise anyone. The coffin dodgers floating around those halls keep proposing this stuff based on tech they don’t understand, then it always get stopped eventually.
