This doesn't sound like the normal behavior. From the app description: "This indexing process may take some time, but it's a one-time event. Once this initial indexing process is complete, the app will store the index on your device, and any new photos you add to your photo library will be automatically added to the index on the subsequent app launches."

If your experience is different you may let the dev know so they can fix it.

I use rofi as my app launcher and more. I've share my old script here.

I have now extended this script to support the following:

  • execute a command if the input text belongs to /bin or /usr/local/bin
  • do some basic maths (using menu-calc)
  • open url in my web browser if the input text starts starts with http(s) or ends with .xxx (where x is any letter)
  • translate the input text in English/French using the deepl website if the input text starts with dpen/dpfr
  • search the input text with searx (if all the above failed)
  • manage my web bookmarks (using buku)
  • manage my clipboard (using copyq)
  • manage my passwords and autofill fields (using pass)
  • manage bluetooth devices
  • manage audio sinks and sources
  • manage my wifi and vpn
  • manage my tmux sessions

Quite recently I moved to my first trackball (Elecom Deft Pro) and that was a life changer. I've shared my experience here.

Any mastodon client? Also can I recommend the Right apps collection from Goodwy and Voyager as Lemmy client (I think they match the requirements to figure on your list).

To investigate the issue you may want to use a bootable drive and chroot into your system. This will allow you to see any error messages using the journactl command. Once you know what's going on exactly you'll be able to fix it or get a better assistance from people here or on the Arch forum.
I know someone who encountered the exact same login behavior after this update. It appeared that some packages were broken and he had to reinstall them.

I've been through awesomewm, i3, and dwm. Now I'm using bspwm. Each one has its own specificities and is more or less easy to familiarized with.

Influence is a curse in today's world. I've made this final selection of brands based on personal choice and for reasons exposed in this post. But it's all personal so you may disagree with some/all candidates and that's perfectly fine. I've posted here to actually collect as much opinions as possible so thanks for sharing yours.

Companies always find a way to justify for higher price to sell you not that good hardware or to overprice their stuff for non sense reasons. As anyone else (except fan boys of any given brand) I'm running away from that. In my personal views, companies on this list have reasonable offers considering their history, clients pool, philosophy...

Framework is maybe the best deal here because it has good price and all parts of their machines are replaceable. And again, prices for the parts are fair. So in the long run, users may be winners if the company doesn't crash. If it does then it won't be worth than having bought from another company. With all the options to build the laptop you want for your needs it really make me feel like customizing my Linux system but from a hardware standpoint. It's a big plus for me to pay only for what I want/need and with them you can go even further by physically positioning your ports on the fly. That's an unseen degree of freedom and it has real world applications.

I agree. Have you ever owned one?

Both iosevka and fira look nice.

Thanks! I'm still not used to the diversity of all the NixOS documentarian and was not aware that arbitrary options can be found there.

Thanks for the update. Have fun!

Oh ok. I was just joking. What matters is that you find what works for you. One of the beauty of Linux is that there's a distro for everyone.
