I have been arguing with my local council planning department to install external window shutters for years. Unfortunately installing them requires paying for planning permission, which requires an architect. It's absolutely crazy

I created a very simple hacky card to download and display Met Office rain images for a few hours ahead. It is probably very buggy so use at your own risk :) Unfortunately the API only supports the whole UK or Europe at the moment so can't zoom in. But I find it quite useful.

Unfortunately they have even killed being able to just encrypt data. Because of the key disclosure law the police can request the password/key for any data in your possession regardless of whether it is random data or not. If you can't, you go to jail. Literally everyone is a criminal.

Not even China or Russia have this type of authoritarian control over communication.
