A U.N. memo obtained by The Post concluded that gangs “may be benefiting from a passive if not active benevolence” or “protection” from Israel’s military.

Summary by brave leo:

  • The Ministry of Interior in Gaza has launched a large-scale security operation to target gangs looting humanitarian aid under the protection of Israeli forces.
  • The operation has resulted in the neutralization of over 20 gang members and aims to dismantle criminal networks intercepting aid trucks destined for the besieged population in southern Gaza.
  • The looting of aid has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, particularly in the south, where the scarcity of basic necessities due to the Israeli siege has led to growing fears of famine.
  • Israeli forces are accused of providing cover for the gangs' operations, with intercepted communications suggesting that Israel's intelligence agency, Shin Bet, has been involved.
  • The gangs are believed to be receiving weapons and ammunition from Israeli forces to destabilize the area, and some gang leaders have established "military-like compounds" in areas controlled by the Israeli army.
  • The Gaza Interior Ministry has vowed to continue its crackdown on these criminal networks, promising a relentless campaign to eliminate those involved in aid theft.

Today 5 years ago I was in Hebron, Palestine. I spent there a couple of days at a AirBnb. The story is quite fascinating and I recorded audio while talking to many local people there.

Many different things happened during my stay which you can hear about in the podcast episode. From the bus driver who drove me there from Jerusalem not wanting to let me go out because he feared for my safety then two 10 years old trying mug me while other teenagers escorting me to the military checkpoint. My confusion about the maps of palestine and Israel and explanations of it. I also visited a family who's house has been bulldozered by the #IDF several times and they kept rebuilding it. Their son just married the weekend before and on the way to the wedding the IDF stopped him and harassed him to give them money so they'd let him go to his wedding. Anyway there is much more in there than I can mention here.

So check it out https://jeena.net/pods/21

I also recorded a half an hour video back then walking around in the old city, you can watch it while you listen to the podcast: https://tube.jeena.net/w/3FhHLhdfxHpEJGdGPTA3uA

Israeli-Palestinian film on West Bank occupation branded 'antisemitic' by Berlin city portal (Middle East Eye, 2024-11-13)

https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/israeli-film-west-bank-occupation-branded-antisemitic-berlin-city-portal
———

#Berlin's official online portal has faced backlash for claiming the Israeli-Palestinian film No Other Land about Israel's takeover in the occupied West Bank contained ‘antisemitic tendencies’.”

“In a post on X (formerly Twitter), [one of the directors Yuval] Abraham said he felt ‘unsafe and unwelcome in Berlin’ because of the designation.”

“The Berlin portal's commentary was criticised in a number of quarters, including by German ambassador to Israel, Steffen Seibert.” 👀

“The text on the site was later changed, along with an admission that the original description had been ‘incorrect and inadmissible’.”

🤔 They could have just erased the first expression and remained silent. A glimpse of conscience?

Weaponizing Jewish fear, from Tel Aviv to Amsterdam: Rhetoric about ‘pogroms’ and ‘Jew hunts’ aims to obscure reality by generating mass hysteria — which can then be used to advance a far-right agenda.
(+972 Magazine, 2024-11-15)

———

“In the wake of October 7, scholars of antisemitism, genocide, and Jewish history have warned of the ways that particularly traumatic episodes in Jewish history have been evoked to justify Israel’s onslaught on Gaza and crack down on those who criticize it. As antisemitism scholar Brendan McGeever articulated clearly, despite being brutal and disturbing, the incident in Amsterdam was no pogrom ... The proliferation of this term and others like it in the aftermath of the violence only served to obfuscate the reality of those events through creating mass hysteria…“

🙊 No comment (is also a comment)

“Several Muslim and Arab supporters of Trump said they hoped Richard Grenell, Trump's former acting director of national intelligence, would play a key role after he led months of outreach to Muslim and Arab American communities, and was even introduced as a potential next secretary of state at events.

“Another key Trump ally, Massad Boulos, the Lebanese father-in-law of Trump's daughter Tiffany, met repeatedly with Arab American and Muslim leaders.

“Both promised Arab American and Muslim voters that Trump was a candidate for peace who would act swiftly to end the wars in the Middle East and beyond…”

Shireen and I became friends two or three months ago when I started to help her family and since then we're talking almost daily. She had a lot of problems setting up a campaign on GoFundMe and kissed a lot of doors from charity organizations which gave her no reply, even though she provided all the required documentation (she even sent me her father's passport photo so I don't doubt her honesty).

Because of those obstacles, her family in Gaza received very few donations and relies on humanitarian aid, which is extremely scarse on the north because of the inhumane siege. Her friends and I help as much as we can, but for a young man with Down syndrome, her father that has sepsis and her diabetic mother it's simply not enough.

That's why I'm sharing her campaign she managed to set on SpotFund recently.

Please join me in helping her family. 🙏

If you can, share her family's story on your social media accounts as well.

Thank you for your time and generosity.

I recommend everyone watch the documentary about him here (there are several languages available)

The court said Abdallah, who was detained in 1984 and convicted in 1987 over the 1982 murders, would be released on December 6 on condition that he leaves France, French anti-terror prosecutors said in a statement, adding that they would appeal the release order.

"In (a) decision dated today, the court granted Georges Ibrahim Abdallah conditional release from December 6, subject to the condition that he leaves French territory and not appear there again," the prosecutors said.

Fr. Albanese’s answer to a question “Do you believe that Israel has a right to exist?”

🙏 I couldn’t but transcribe. Corrections welcome.

“Israel does exist. Israel is a recognised member of the United Nations. Beside this, there is not such a thing in International Law like a right of a state to exist. Does Italy have a right to exist? Italy exists! Now, if tomorrow Italy and France want to merge, and become “Itafrance”, fine! This is not up to us. What is enshrined in International Law is the right of a people to exist. So the state is there, the state of Israel is there, is protected as a member of the United Nations. Does this justify the erasure of another people? - a “No”. Not 75 years ago, not 57 years ago, surely not today. Where is the protection of the Palestinian people, from erasure, from annexation, from illegal occupation, and apartheid? This is what we need to discuss, hmm?”
