Please for the love of mike, update your servers frequently!!
I login to all my servers weekly for updates, both OS and software
I generally do this over ssh every week, today was special. Indeed, update always!
Unattended updates are pretty easy to setup in ubuntu, even without configuration management.
I just have automatic updates turned on.
Yeah, there's always the risk of a bad update wrecking everything, but I figure that it's going to happen when I apply the update manually anyway.
