Cows aren't super tall, nor is the occasional tractor. Why do barns often have roofs three stories high?

the barns i played in as a kid stored stuff that needed to be kept dry in the lofts of the barn.

Ahh, and the dry air is trapped up there. Or at least the moist floor isnt
