Can confirm, I'm also latino and I've received various compliments on the color of my skin. It always trips me tf out because people here swear up and down that racism doesn't exist and that there's only classism. But then my friend would refuse to go to the mall on the affluent part of town complaining that her darker complexion would make her feel singled out even though she's beautiful. It's unreal.
