It was PCR (the DNA amplification technique) that was invented by a guy who took a lot of LSD and who credited LSD for the creative spark

There was a recent veritasium video about it

but still yes the structure:

Crick, who died ten days ago, aged 88, later told a fellow scientist that he often used small doses of LSD then an experimental drug used in psychotherapy to boost his powers of thought.
