A couple minutes ago - I saw this Dave Weigel post about Fetterman switching parties.

Have known Fetterman for 16 years and would fall over dead if he did that. Yeah, there are people who knew RFJ Jr 3x that long and would never have seen him backing Trump. But Fetterman thinks his approach could save the party, he doesn't want to be a liberal Republican who loses his primary

Nah dude, we were empathetic—not supportive, but understanding—when you were saying things that weren't monstrous. Now that you've come out swinging as a monster, you don't get that basic human decency anymore.
