Did someone forget to pay the bribes?!!
Nah, more like "we already heard your arguments at the golf club. No reason to listen again, we're already going to rule in your favor."
That's not how this works and a golf club isn't a court. This means the lawsuit can proceed. If they had already decided to rule in O&G's favor on this, they would have done so by hearing the case and making a ruling in their favor.
This means they're declining to have the case brought forward before the Supreme Court, effectively ruling against the petro companies. It's really quite a surprising turn of events.
Nah, they have a less obvious lawsuit in the works that will get little coverage. Business as usual.
Mate these ghouls literally rolled back Roe v Wade right in front of the world's face. I don't think they care what we think or how much coverage they get. They are immune to the consequences of their actions and thus will continue to act this way.
Yes, but no.
It's all about smoke and mirrors with corporate malfeasance - to be fair the oil companies can also just do what they want the fines would always be just another line item in the P&L, but they spend the money on PR anyway.
What I am talking about is how they will undermine any law or get it how they want to maximize profit without anyone looking too deeply.
If that was not the case the SC would hear this case and follow through, absorbing the backlash like they got from the Roe v Wade.... it's still all about image for corporate America.
maaaaybe they're not happy with the paltry pizza parties anymore
