Also at hotels while traveling .... ask for a better room or any upgrades. Worst thing anyone will say is no.
But if you're lucky to run into a manager in a good mood or even the owner, they'll give you something just for asking.
I don’t think my motel 6 has a better room than 2 full size beds and free HBO
They might at least not put you next to the hourly rentals
But then you have a longer walk
And miss out on the free entertainment?
Pay-per-view comp?
I had a guy try to stab me because I asked. I'd categorize that as worse than no.
If that happened to me at a hotel .... I'd give up my prebooked room and leave, no matter the cost ... definitely not a hotel I'd want to stay in.
I also made it up, just to provide an example of something worse that could happen. But probably never will.
