Revisionism — No downplaying or denying atrocities past and present. Calling Tankies shills, foreign/federal agents, or bots also falls under this rule. Extremists exist. They are real. Do not call them shills or fake users as it handwaves their extremism.
Tankies can explain their views but may be criticised or attacked for them. Any slight infraction on the rules above will immediately earn a warning and possibly a ban.
Off-topic Discussion — Do not discuss unrelated topics to the point of derailing the thread. Stay focused on the direct content of the post as opposed to arguing.
You'll be warned if you're violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. That goes for pretty much every single military in the world unfortunately. It's not really worth singling them out when there are Russians running around with black sun symbols and SS-Skulls at the same time.
Besides, Ukraine has done a huge amount of work to clear up these elements and pretty much none of the founding members of Azov remain in active service. The entire brigade has been almost fully replaced after Mariupol.
Azov brigade literally uses the wolfsangel and black sun in their insignias.
The old issue with Azov had a lot to do with them receiving weapons and training from U.S. military prior to the full russian invasion in 2022. The backtracking and legitmization of the battalion in response is typically what people are most critical of. Seems silly how those optics used to be a concern.
I think a lot of people have no idea where the Azov group came from before the war.
