I used to be "story-telling and presentation" first when it came to games, but frankly, a game is meant to be played, otherwise you might as well be playing a "visual novel" (like wht Japan has where you just click dialogue box after dialogue box).

Honestly, I don't mind stuff like Detroit Become Human, if the story is really good and it's well acted, it's like watching a movie where you have a bit of control over the direction of events. It's just a different kind of experience. Ultimately, the question is whether I'm enjoying myself or not. :)
