From all the European countries, you didn't pick a good one mate xD the UK is a mess
I got to pick one where I can legally live, and one that isn't going to force my daughter into a conversion therapy camp for being gay, which is what I am concerned with at the moment.
I'm not super full of national pride, but its not exactly a hell hole and on the plus side we've recently elected a party on the left while a good chunk of the other major European powers are shifting to the right. Need to get on top of this Reform nonsense, but I'm not seeing anyone rounding up LGBTQ folk.
Very generous description of Starmer's Labour!
Agreed. And every kid my daughter has met and talked to has been very much accepting. Unlike a lot of American kids.
They haven't banned conversion therapy either
Okay, where do you suggest I should have gone when I'm only a citizen of the US and the UK?
Let's hear your plan.
I didn't know the UK was the only European country where people aren't forced into conversion therapy. Also, I didn't know the UK was the only country where an American can legally live. Should I be reporting all my American gay expat friends to the government now?
You clearly didn't do your research when moving to Europe, and clearly have no clue on how other European countries are. The UK is not the most gay friendly of all European countries and finding work as an American is easy in many EU countries and can even have some massive tax benifits (20% tax reduction in NL for example). Many EU countries have fluent English speakers and loads of jobs where only English is no issue. While in the UK it's going pretty fucked up since they left the EU. But at least their food can be of as poor quality as US food, so aclimating might be easier. Just be careful when getting sick, free healthcare could be a massive culture shock.
I'm a UK citizen. I was able to legally get to the UK by getting on a plane.
How would you suggest I emigrate to one of those European countries when I don't even have a job?
Clearly I'm very stupid and you aren't, so give me the plan.
There are agencies which help with expats finding a job and housing. Also schools for kids etc. I know it exists here in NL, but also in Norway, Germany and probably much more countries.
There are many job offers for expats. Many companies are scouting. Again, through expat agencies you can get easier access to these job offers, but not exclusively.
Why didn't you say you're a UK citizen? So you're not a US citizen and you moved back to your country of origin? I can understand that, although I still would have checked other countries first since the current state of the UK isn't that attractive right now.
As a UK citizen I think it's even easier to live in an EU country then a US citizen.
No, I am a dual national.
And your plan is for me to contact an agency, but you don't know what agency?
Cool. Get me one.
Oh, you think so.
I asked you for a plan. You've given me a bunch of vague and unhelpful shit after admonishing me for doing my best.
